Hotel for wedding night?

Hi everyone! FI and I are looking for a hotel for our wedding night. We've decided not to stay at the hotels where our guests will be staying (the Charles & Courtyard Marriott) to guarantee privacy and give us a sense of intimacy (we can't take a honeymoon right away, so this feels pretty important to me!).

I think we'd like to splurge a little. Can anyone make recommendations for downtown or Cambridge hotels?

The hotels I've been looking at are Hotel Veritas, Renaissance, Royalton Suites, and the Langham, but we'd be open to anything in a similar price/quality range. It would be wonderful if they had some special honeymoon suite...

Thanks so much!!

Re: Hotel for wedding night?

  • Marriott Custom House

  • the sheraton tara in framingham - it looks like a castle and it is absolutely gorgeous!!
Wedding Countdown Ticker Visit The Knot!
  • Faimont Copley

    Lenox

    Mandarin Oriental
  • I second the Fairmont Copley! Otherwise, the Back Bay Hotel, XV Beacon, and Four Seasons in Boston, or Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge are all gorgeous and have honeymoon suites.

  • I highly recommend The Kendall Hotel in Kendall Square.
  • Marriot Custom House is ok. I think their suites are pretty affordable, but I don't think they are anything special.

Renaissance is nice as well. I've had room service though and the food is $$ and not good.

I like the intercontinental. It has a good bar inside, and it is right on the water and has a nice grassy area out there.  The amenities in the basic rooms are very nice (steam shower, comfy beds, etc).

LIberty Hotel is also nice with a nice bar area.  Its a bit pricer and the rooms are not that big.

If you are not going to be that picky and just want someplace nice for alone time, I think you should go to Hotwire.com, pick the area you would like, and select 4-5* hotel. You won't know the hotel for sure, but you can save a lot of $ (look at this website http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showforum=102& which can help you narrow down what you are interested in - look at the pinned list at the top).
  • Hotel Marlowe - can't beat it. Gorgeous and pricing well below downtown. It's our wedding hotel.
