Where In Maui in July??

Hellooo Ladies!

I am new to this, just got engaged a few weeks ago. We have decided on Maui and in July of 2012. Neither of us have been to Hawaii, but have heard many good things about Maui weddings. It is DEFINITELY going to be on the beach, no ifs ands or buts, the only problem is, WHAT BEACH?! This is a lot harder than I thought! I'm about ready to close my eyes and just pick already! Does anyone have any suggestions as to which beach in Maui is best in the months of July. Or perhaps, not as busy, as we would like it to be as private as possible. There will most likely be about 20 of us, I know thats a large number for a beach but like I said, its going to be on a beach!! Please throw out ANY suggestions you might have, along with anywhere that would hold a nice reception, but still relatively cheap!

Thanks!

Are you looking to do it on a public beach? Makena beach has some nice secluded spots that will be great for a wedding, even of that size. I'm getting married on Paipu or Po'olenalena beach and there are other spots close to there that work well. I would recommend contacting a coordinator to help arrange that part for you.

If you would like a private beach location you'll need to find a resort or hotel to work with.

After our 'public beach' wedding we plan to go to either Sarentos or Gannon's for dinner :)

The only reason i would do it on a public beach is so that fee's stay low, i looked into doing it on a private beach and it was quite expensive. So i would like a public beach, without A TON of people persay. I have looked at a lot of Makena beach photos and it looks amazing! Do you have a coordinator lined up currently, thats another thing... I dont know who to choose! There are so many to pick from, any suggestions??

    Thanks!

There are a ton to choose I would say just contact a few and see who responds the quickest and who you're most connected to. We are going with Bill from Maui'd forever and he's so incredibly helpful with everything from things related to the wedding to recommending restaurants and hotels and helping us book discounted activities.

The public beach option is great $25 for the permit and that's it :)

Makena would be perfect for you - first, it's HUGE, so it would be easier to find a more secluded place.  Second, it doesn't get super crowded there too early because there are no resorts or homes on the beach.

Any other beach I would be weary of unless you do a really early morning wedding, as a lot of people run, do yoga, or just get to the beach before the masses do.  And honestly - I've seen too many rude people walk right through the middle of weddings on more crowded beaches, so I would definitely recommend Makena or any other beach that isn't lined with condos, homes, or resorts.

    Good luck in your planning!!!
