FI, the kids, and I are going to my moms. My FI is doing a turkey in the turkey fryer. We're having "dinner" or should I say lunch at 1 because my father has to go to work at 3pm =(

We are going to my Aunt and Uncle's home in Plymouth.  My mom is one of 5 siblings, so every year we get together at one of their houses.  It is huge, my grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins plus their spouses and children and anyone else who needs a place to go.  Everyone contributes something and it is a blast.  Because I am one of the younger ones, I always get away with bringing something easy like an app, or rolls.  This year I am bringing homemade hummus with pretzels, tortilla chips and veggies.

We are headed to DHs family thanksgiving and then to my side for dessert. We hope to start hosting in a few years, but until then, I'm in charge of desserts. 2 apple pies, 2 pumpkin pies, lemon ricotta cookies, and biscotti. My house smells so amazing right now :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO THE WONDERFUL DETROIT KNOTTIES!!!!

Having dinner at my house, as usual. Timing gets tricky with my daughter's dad's family and Kevin's family get together. We've always done it early, and will continue to do so. The dining room is next to the family room, so the TV stays on while we watch the Lions, LOL.

But this year we have a brand new person at our table, my son's galpal! They drove in yesterday from DC and we got to meet her for the first time. What a nice and pretty young lady. And she's SMART! My son needs the intellectual stimulation, so I'm glad he found it. She's a vegetarian, so the only dish I'm changing is the dressing, using vegetable stock instead of chicken. The only thing she won't be able to eat is the turkey, otherwise our usual sides and desserts.

Hope you all have a happy, safe and fun holiday weekend.

Heading out to eat with my dad and brother soon. My mom and Fi are both working. They work together at Ruths Christ Steakhouse so we figure why not go eat there.

It just isn't necessary for me to try to cook all that food for the three of us. Usually my brother isn't with us but his girlfriend is a nurse and working this year so he gets to join us.
