Good morning, brides. How was everyone's weekend? What plans do you have for this week? Who's using the short work week (if you get one) for wedding planning?

My weekend was great!! My fiance and I went to help out a lady who he used to work with to fix a dining room table chair so she had enough chairs for thanksgiving. Annndddd.... she received a while ago a veil from a co-worker for her daughter and the co-worker didn't want the veil back and told her to pass it to the next bride she meets and I was the NEXT bride!!! So now I have my something borrowed and the veil is so pretty and it matches my dress so perfectly its CRAZY!!! I will be using this short week to get the rest of the addresses and finish addressing my save the dates!

Love: yay on the veil!!!

This morning has sucked so far for me. I left my keys to our apt and my car in FI's car and didn't realize it until he was already at work and I had to leave for work. Thankfully my boss could grab me on her way to work but I had to leave our apt unlocked. I am freaking praying to every god there is that no one will help themselves to our stuff while we are gone. ARGH.

I spent my weekend running around NYC. It was awesome and I was really happy to see a bunch of family/friends down there. I didn't go anywhere near downtown though but the rest of the city seemed OK, just with a few downed trees here or there.

FI and I worked on getting some hotel information squared away and we got the Five Love Languages book to read. I'm supposed to finish it this week so I can pass it off to him after Thanksgiving. We'll see how that goes...

I'm reformatting our guest list this week too so that we can figure out who's addresses we'll need. I'm going to see a bunch of people this week, so I'll be able to ask.

Love: Awesome on the veil!

Jlp: Worst. Feeling. Ever. Try not to think about it!

This week, I plan on finishing up addresses as well. AS SOON AS I GET MY FREAKING EPICS, I plan on getting those out asap! Otherwise, not too much. Running a Turkey Trot on Thursday and we picked out my wedding band this weekend! Sooooooo pretty.

I am just trying to survive this (short) week at work. Only 3 hours in and I already want to scream.

This weekend I managed to spend my whole paycheck on Christmas stuff...butttt I did not get anything for myself. So I consider that a paycheck well spent!!!

@Love- that is fate that you were the next bride!!!
@Ellie- did you call the photog yet to check in? Maybe he is going to use the holiday time off to get your pics to you ha ha!!! Fingers crossed for you!

Love - So exciting about the viel! I still haven't found anything borrowed yet. I dont know what I will be able to find!

This weekend, I decided what I'll be doing for hairdresser. I was originally thinking of having my hairdresser come to my house. However, after seeing her this weekend, we agreed it wouldn't make sense as there are too many of us and if its just her doing hair it would take all day. So instead we've decided to go to the salon across the street from my condo. Now, I need to start going there and building a relationship with one of their stylists!

Also, we re-did our wedding website this weekend, which was a pain. The one we did was on a website that is apparently shutting down their wedding websites so we had to redo it. It was a pain though becuase we literally sent out our STD's last week and I got the email about the website Friday! So that was a pain.

Sunday, I went with my MOH and picked out the BM dresses. Well we narrowed it down to 2 that we like and we will go with the rest of the girls to pick which one is the winner. I know its early, but I feel better knowing the dress has been chosen and we'll just order them in April.

We also talked to the guy about alterations and my dress since it was a sample and the boutique I bought it from doesn't do alterations. He said I could come in anytime and get a quote. He also said for any major alterations, we could do them in the off season so they are cheaper than waiting to do it in the summer!

Overall it was a productive wedding weekend. I don't think we'll be doing much else now till the new year! Woo Hoo!!!

Ellie: Those are so nice!! i'm so happy you got them! I think it was even starting to stress ME out haha

I, unfortunately, have the duty this week of canning a BM. Our friendship has really taken a turn for the worst and I just can't be her punching bag anymore. I thought that having her in the wedding might be a way to bring us closer together but that didn't really work. So not only am i losing a BM, but a also a friend of 13 years. it also sucks bc i'm one of those psychos who needs to have their bridal party even on both sides. it's really going to drive me nuts.

My weekend was great for the most part - I met up with an old coworker for lunch and then decided to hit the mall to get some birthday/christmas shopping done, so that was nice! I took a quick detour to DSW and picked up my wedding shoes! I'm undecided on them considering I haven't even bought my dress, but I knew what I wanted and they had my size (tough to do when you're a 10...sigh)... so I think I'm set! I'm horribly indecisive though so I'm afraid I might change my mind...

The rest of the weekend was crazy as I'm house and dog-sitting for my aunt... her 6 month old puppy decided to jump up and pee on my bed and my phone charger...which consequently fried my iphone

But I went over to verizon this morning and they're sending me a refurbished one for free thankfully.

I'm ready for Wednesday and to go home! Hopefully we'll make a decision on our DJ- that's the last vendor we need to book, and I need to book another dress appointment at a new salon to make my final decision on a dress! After reading these posts I always feel so far behind!!

ellie - FINALLY!!!

I had a great weekend! Fi worked all day (what else is new) but we squeezed in date night on Saturday. I'd wanted to see Breaking Dawn 2, but didn't want to make him sit through a movie so I just hottied myself up and we went for a late dinner.

I spent Sunday making an early Thanksgiving feast for FI's 5 yr old - he's pretty upset that he has to spend the actual holiday with his mom this year, so I whipped up a turkey breast with stuffing and gravy, mac and cheese, corn and homemade cranberry sauce. Super busy Sunday, but it's all good:)

This week I'm going to put a deposit on the chairs and arbor for the ceremony - I swear, I've never written so many checks in my life.

Question - how is everyone going about the actual addressing of the STDs? Clear labels? Printing onto individual envelopes? I want to knock that out this week, even though I still can't send them.

<div>Good question, I was just considering this today when I was updating my addresses this morning. I think I am just going to print in a fancy font on the envelopes. I'll save the faux calligraphy for the actual invites.</div>

I had a good weekend too

On Friday my FI and I celebrated our 3 year aniversary. That was great. He bought me a gorgeous dress as a gift which was so nice of him.

Yesterday I went to a wedding show which was great too. Got some inspiration for the invitations. I finally decided to just buy what I can find here and make what I can manage out of that. This means that I in no way will have the invites I have dreamed of, but at least I'll have ones I made myself. Working on the wording for the invites now, and then we will see. If my brother can send us the monogram he is making for us this week then perhaps I can actually finish them by next sunday!

NWR I'm stressing too. I'm trying to prepare for two huge exams, and for a job interview in addition to all the wedding stuff that has to be done... Busy busy. Hope this week will be a productive one both on the WR side and the NWR side!

I think I am just hand writing mine. I did not want to spend the extra money to have them printed on the envelopes- ill save that for the invitations. I know it isn't as formal to have them hand written, but my hand writing isn't terrible and people just throw the envelope away anyhow!

This weekend was fabulous. The FI and I got our wedding bands Saturday and I ordered our save the dates Friday so I feel like we got a ton of stuff done for the wedding.

I don't have this week off (in fact, it's one of our busiest weeks of the year since I'm in retail). But tomorrow we have our second meeting with the priest and since the FI's off school I really hope he spends some of his down time collecting the addresses of his friends so I can start addressing the save the dates next month to send out January. I also need to get started on my Christmas cards...might also try to start talking to a caterer, but that could wait.

Bahaha, I'm such a techie I completely forgot that people can use their hands to WRITE! Lol.

I'll probably use clear labels or hand write; I'd thought about printing them (at home bc there's no way FI would go for that expense with the setup I already have) but hand feeding them through would probably put me to sleep.

Oh, and jessica2244, that's terrible about your bridesmaid. I'd thought about letting my sister in just to see if she'd be a better person, but she showed her true colors again before I made that mistake.

MMM - Your pics are gorgeous!!! I especially love the one with the tree! So Nice!

I hand wrote the addresses on our save the dates. I have pretty neat writing and felt for the STD's they didn't need to me all formal and fancy. When to comes to the invites, I'm not sure what I'll end up doing!

Jessica 2244 - So sorry to hear about your BM! I hope you can figure it all out and cut that stress from your life! Definitely don't need extra stress!

This weekend was my birthday (Sat) so went out to an awesome dinner with my FI and then met up with some friends for a few drinks. Came home early with no baby and had some "alone" time (trust me enjoy it why you can!) Sunday watched my Bengals win again so that was good. Baby has a cold so that is never fun but we he is on the mend so things are good here. I dont really plan to do anything wedding this week (I only get Thurs off) I am a little sad I dont get to go blk Friday shopping but I am sure it will save money and me from killing someone. Can't wait to stuff my face!
