1. Printed all of my ceremony programs and cut them down to size. Am in the process of making the bows to glue on them now but I ran out of ribbon. Hopefully Michael's has more of the right color.
2. Had 2nd dress fitting. Still needs a couple of small tweaks, but it's mostly done!
3. Made template for RD escort cards, which was harder than I would have thought.
Still waiting on 28 RSVPs (19 cards) -- you've got 1 day, people!! Don't make me call you, please!
FI called our DJ who said everything was good to go and that we'll be in touch again in November(ish). Apparently he's still in wedding season mode, which I completely understand.
Added four people to the guest list which is still in production mode. Otherwise, nothing new!
I would also like to add that I've only been around a few weeks, but this board is fantastic! Very welcoming and overall just nice people.
131 invited 120 are ready to party! 11 will miss the festivities!
- Picked an officiant - Looking over save the date options (so many to pick from!) - Narrowing down hair and makeup options - Booked Belhurst for the rehearsal dinner and time following the dinner so all out-of-town guests can meet us for drinks and appetizers
This last week and a half has been hell, but I did manage to get a few things accomplished: After our officiant stood us up last week, we did end up getting to meet with him. We have most of the ceremony put together, and hopefully the rest will fall into place. Picked up the remaining bridesmaids dresses, which are now all safely at my house until the wedding. They just need to be steamed, and then they will be all set to go. Our favors came in, and I'm really happy with them. I know a lot of people aren't fans of personalized favors, but we went with personalized shot glasses with our names and wedding date. It's kind of a "thing" in our group of friends/family, and we have some goofy traditions when we have get-togethers based around whose shot glasses you end up with for the night. We do plan on making them a little more exciting by adding a snack to them though. I was considering either filling them with candy or setting a chocolate covered strawberry in the top of them, but haven't decided yet. After spending many many hours shopping with my mom, she finally picked out a dress to wear to the wedding. Well, scratch that, she actually picked out THREE dresses. She doesn't know which one she will go with, but at this point I don't really care. They are all nice dresses, and I'm just glad I don't have to help her look any more. (Helping her wasn't me being controlling, she was very adament about me approving of her dress, even though I insisted it was up to her.)
I booked my hair and makeup artist (thanks Em). Every night I've been scrolling through pages and pages of Etsy ideas. I might go to Michael's tonight and look at paint and signs for a DIY project. Super excited for this weekend, I'm driving to Rochester, Geneva, and Syracuse to visit family, friends, and our venue. Will update about that next week lol.
- Picked out our Save the Dates (100 free on Vista Print... woo hoo!) - Finalized our menu - Bought my jewelry to go with my dress - FI tried on a few tuxedos and suits (he wants to buy instead of rent which I'm all for)
Melissa, we have the same date! When are you planning on sending your STD's out? We haven't even thought of them at this point! Might be a little behind on the planning...

I just ordered them because our date is set and I got an offer in my email for 100 free Save the Dates from Vista Print so I figured I might as well buy them now. But we're not planning on sending them out until the first or second week of November. I read somewhere that they should be sent out 6-9 months beforehand (in that range). We have quiteee a few out of towners too so we wanted a lttle extra time for them to plan their trip.
1) Paid off the florist 2) Decided on which type of tuxes for the men 3) First dress fitting is this SATURDAY....soooo excited!!! 4) GOT OUR MARRIAGE LICENSE!!!!!!
FI and I have picked a venue... I think... it's in PHILLY! Remember how I mentioned that he said he wanted to get married in Philly and I thought it was odd but whatever, I was open to it? Well we did some searching last night-- I've been wicked sick the past few days so I think he was trying to help me feel better by sitting on the laptop with me browsing for fun-- and we came across this place called the Regal Ballroom, the pictures look AMAZING and the packages look perfect for us, so I called and left a message right away. I spoke with the guy this morning, and the prices he gave us are moderate-to-high, but when we did the math, it's WELL within our budget. Today FI said he will let me know by this weekend whether we move the date to 2013 or keep it in 2014.... but I'm 90% confident at this point it will be in 2013 I couldn't be more obsessed with this venue. I'm dying over it.
And don't worry, under no circumstance will I be ditching this board!
We had our final photography meeting I did my shower thank you notes printed out my guestbook pages had to reschedule our final dj meeting, that's next week final cake meeting is today and this weekend is finishing table numbers/guestbook
