Baby's got me thinking... want to share

Ever since I got pregnant, some really wonderful insights have been revealed to me and I just wanted to share two of them. I meet regularly with a faith sharing group, and tonight we talked about what God wants for us. I really feel like all the craziness in my life over the past couple of months have made me remember that it's OK to just surrender to God.

So anyway, I just thought I'd share some of these random thoughts.

1. When I told a very good friend of mine that I'm PG, he said, "A baby [Ringy] is just what this world needs!" I laughed and said, "Not sure if it's what the world needs, but it's what the world is getting." He responded, "God doesn't make mistakes." I shall never forget these words as long as I live.

2. I'm still a couple of weeks away from feeling the baby's movement. People keep asking me how baby and I are doing, and I sometimes tell them how strange it is that I can't see or feel it, but I just have to have faith that it's there and doing well. And it occurred to me that, well, so is God. I guess it gave me a new appreciation for "faith".

That is so inspiring ring_pop. As someone who just was confirmed in the Church a few years ago and started going back to church prior to that when I was dating my H, I try to tell myself to just leave it in God's hands. He knows what He is doing afterall. However, like you said, it is so hard sometimes with everything life throws your way.

Faith is an amazing thing. My cousin had a very difficult pregnancy with her daughter and as such was going to use Faith as her middle name because she said she needed a lot of faith to get through the pregnancy. While she was pregnant our grandma passed away so she changed the middle name to Theresa after our Grandma. Emma came out perfect, and now that she is two and a half, she is so much like our Grandma, it's amazing. God and our faith in Him is very powerful.

FI and I were talking just last night about how difficult it can be to let go and give it up to God. I found your thoughts really inspiring in that direction.

God does really answer prayers. H texted me today from work after he received a phone call about a job he applied for. We are both unhappy where we currently live and with our jobs. Although we have made the decision to move as soon as our lease is up, H really wants to have a job to go back to.

I always try to remember what my grandmother told me when M was born at 27 1/2 weeks and not expected to survive.

"Give your problems to God and have the faith to trust Him"

Faith is a wonderful thing!

Thank you for sharing, ring_pop and all subsequent PPs! I always try to remember to pray when confronted with big choices or decisions. After all, it's not just me in this world. God provides amazing guidance and support if we only ask.
