Getting in Shape

Need some tips to stay focused and motivated...

I just booked my wedding for next fall. I have been on Weight Watchers for the past 3 months and find myself not counting points on a lot of days and can't seem to motivate myself to workout more than 2 days a week! UGH!! I'd like to lose 40lbs over the next year and seriously need to change my ways!
HELP!

It's great that you've set a goal for yourself: 40 lbs over the next year...but how do you get from here to there? I think it's helpful to set small goals in between. For example, lose 5 pounds this month. But break it down even more: I will have fruit as a snack 5 times a week instead of my usual BLANK.

Making your goals small and actionable make them reachable. It's also fun to see how you're kicking butt and able to cross those mini goals off your list.

    Best of luck!

  • That's a great idea! So my eating habits during the weekdays are good. Trying to conserve money helps too because it forces me to make my meals for work. For breakfast I usually eat a carb and protein, fruit for a snack, salad and protein for lunch, veggie snacks or 100 cal snack.... BUT dinner is ALWAYS my pitfall. I get bored of chicken and veggies or salad. So when I get bored at which point I've lost a few lbs I wind up falling off the wagon then I gain back those few lbs.

<div>Could you lay out a typical day for us?  Much easier to advise if we can see exactly waht's going on.  Here is a typical day for me (today's menu):</div><div>
</div><div>Breakfast: 2 mini egg bakes(with ham, mushroom, bell peppers), a light babybel cheese or 2</div><div>Snack: 1/2 cup of smokehouse roasted almonds (SO good)</div><div>Lunch: a HUGE salad with balsamic, egg, cheese, crisped turkey pepperoni, and tomato</div><div>Snack: almost a cup of homemade beef jerky</div><div>Snack: Ate about a tablespoon of peanutbutter right off the spoon like a lollypop  ;)</div><div>Dinner: garlic and white wine chicken breasts grilled, WAY too much broccoli (4 cups)</div><div>Dessert: a Ghiradelli dark chocolate bar and a serving of sugar-free raspberry jello</div><div>
    </div><div>Plus 5+ litres of water</div>
  • Gee! Your day sounds great! : My day went like this: BREAKFAST: Flat everything bagel with single serving cream cheese SNACK: 1/2 cup carrots and 1/3 cup cucumbers LUNCH: medium sized salad with about 2oz grilled chicken, 50 calorie cheddar cheese snack cut up on top with white vinegar and 2 tsp of canola oil dressing SNACK: skipped today... Got too busy at work : DINNER: now im just lazy and tired so we made grilled cheese made with smart balance, 2 oz American cheese and 1 slice of ham on white bread. SNACK: none The daytime is pretty typical. I usually have at least 1 snack with a fruit or veggie, if not 2. Then mayb the afternoon snack is a 100 cal snack and dinner seems to be whatever I'm in the mood for lately.
