How are you labelling your place cards?

Hi girls,

I wanted to get an early start on printing my place cards but I am not sure how I want to do them, so I am hoping to get some input from you. I want couples to be together on the same card, but how do I write that?

For married couples:
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith or Mr. John Smith & Mrs. Jane Smith ?

For non-married couples/people with signifcant others:
Mr. John Smith & Ms. Jane Brown or Mr. John Smith & Guest ?

And what about young cousins who have no significant others? Do I just do their names all separately or keep siblings together on one place card?

This "easy" task has become much more complicated than I thought.. Thank you!!

Re: How are you labelling your place cards?

  • How are you addressing your invitations? Personally I prefer using both first names but that's just me. As far as non- married couples, definitely use the name not "and guest." If single guests are adults, they should get their own card. If its cousins who are under 18, I think it's ok to do a "family" card with all their names listed.

  • I'm having everyone get their own card with their first and last name on it. So..

    John Smith
    Jane Smith
    Cousin Smith

Ours aren't your typical place cards. We're having cotton bolls with two strips of paper. One with their name and the other with their table number.
  • Thanks girls! I definitely like the "& Family" idea. And will not do "& guest" thank you!

  • We are doing river rocks with the guest's first and last name on one side and the table number on the other.  Everyone will get a rock.
