Anyone ever wax yourself...

...down there? I'm sick of paying so much for brazillians, and am reading online that it isn't too hard to do it yourself... but seems tricky to me? Anyone do it? What kind of wax did you use?

My sister has done it and swears by it.  You just have to be careful because if you don't do it correctly you can leave yourself with what looks like the occasional rug burn or hickey splotch.

Edit: No idea what brand she uses, but I think it's one of the honey ones.

i have my own waxing machine but the first few times i tried it  i burned myself cuz i got the wax way too hot.  you learn after a few times.  i used to wax my friend's arms. its really convenient to have it. i wouldn't wax myself down there.!!!  hell no.

My roommate (and BM) did this when we were in college and it was a huge disaster. I stood on the other side of the door while she cried in the bathroom, lol. I tried not to laugh. In the end her problem was 100% the type of wax she bought. She tried the kinda that you don't use strips with, that the actual wax hardens and turns into the strip? It was terrible. If you try it I would definitely research what type is best and use the more traditional kind that you use fabric strips with.

I have a waxing pot. I wax my lip and my arms myself, I've tried to do the bikini and let me tell you....it's very difficult to do yourself. Not only do you need the right type of wax (like what they use in the salons) but you also need to pull the skin tight enough. Like Peaches said, if you don't do it right you end up with something that looks like rung burn or a hickey, or you can even make yourself bleed.

i just starting doing my own...i bought a kit in harmons by sally hansen for brazilian waxing. it worked out really well. i figured since i had success the first time i would invest in the gigi wax warmer and the gigi brazilian wax....not a good idea...i made a complete mess. i am still cleaning wax off of my floor. i suggest getting the sally hansen kit- it's cheaper and works better in my opinion and not as messy

I wax my own legs with the Gigi warmer and wax.  I have done it for years but honestly, I would be very afraid to try down there.  I swear by the brazilians but I leave that to the pros.  I have also heard of success with laser but I have not tried it.
