Wedding Woes

Hey folks

Just updating again!

1- there's been a change in the plan of attack. I had a PET scan done before my first chemo, and it turns out there are a few hot spots in some more remote lymph nodes. Other organs were ruled definitely clear, though. However, this means I'll be getting 6 rounds and chemo and no surgery, rather than chemo/surgery/chemo. After the last chemo round, we review. I'll confess I'm relieved the surgery is off the table for now. It's a major operation, and having 65% of my stomach removed wasn't exactly ringing my bells. This is not good or bad news, really... just different news.

2- At the same time, my oncologist has given me a quick once over, and she can tell already that the chemo is working. The tumor is much smaller, and some swollen lymph nodes have gone down a lot. My side effects are minimal, too. I'm apparently strong as a damn ox.

3- I guess a lot of you saw DH's & my new "look". Hahaha. I feel like my head is about 3 inches around, but then again, it's nice to not to have to worry about it. Plus, it's about 300 degrees here every day now; I'm a hell of a lot cooler than everyone else!

SO, that's it for now. I'm about to eat lunch and watch some Wendy Williams (maybe get some wig tips). Hasta!
..

Well that's an all around good report, besides the extra 'hot spots'.   I love, love, LOVE the new 'do.  Y'all have some awesome heads.  :)

I'm so happy that the chemo is working and showing results already.  That is such great news, and even better that you've been feeling okay for the most part.

When you go wig shopping I demand you take lots of pictures, and purposefully try on some that are ridiculously awful.

Huzzah for working chemo without major side effects!  Your bald head really is beautiful.  Most people have all kinds of bumps and moles and tan lines.

YAY for modern medicine!  And yes, you need to keep as much of your stomach as possible.  Woudln't that effectively be like gastric bypass on your skinny ass?  I mean, really.

And yes, your bald head rocks.  Only you could look that hawt with no hair at all.

This is great news. I spent the weekend being rudely reminded of just how bad the DC swamp heat is, so a cooler head is definitely a plus.

That is excellent news!  Yay no surgery. My kids include you in thier nighttime prayer routine, just so you know how far this prayer/vibe thing is and smile.

Good to hear that the oncologist is pleased with the progress. Even better that surgery is off the table for the moment.

You never answered my questions about funny birthmarks on WonderHusband's head. Does he have any?

<div>Are you seriously badgering her about not answering a lameass question?  TT, she probably didn't find it interesting enough to answer the first time you asked.  And again, she's left you hanging.  Let this be one of life's unsolved mysteries, mkay?</div>
