Fitbit Zip vs Striiv Play

Hey Ladies!
I've seen many of you posting about the fitbit and it seems in general people really like it. Has anyone had experience with the Striiv? There are not a ton of reviews out there for it, but what I have seen compare it to the Fitbit One instead of the Zip? The One is out of my budget, but Best Buy is having a sale and I can afford the Play right now... I'm kind of leaning towards the Play, it has the standard features (pedometer, bluetooth sync, altimeter, etc), but doesn't do the sleep tracking. It also has a game kind like farmville that you earn currency for through your activity.

Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone here uses it, or thought about getting one and went with something else instead.
 Thanks!

Re: Fitbit Zip vs Striiv Play

  • Sorry I've never even heard of it.

I can confirm that I love my FitBit though - and as an FYI if you're a savvy consumer you can find a deal on a FitBit somewhere. Here in Michigan we have Meijer stores and if you're a Meijer cardholder there's event days where you can get 15% off General merchandise and they just so happen to carry the FitBit brand...so that would be about $15 off. You can look around for deals similar to that.

  • Ooohhh.... what kind of online tools does the fitbit have? The Striiv snycs with MFP, which I already use, and the iphone app that it syncs with through bluetooth. It also has a farmville type game, which might get me hooked :)
  • I love my fitbit - especially because I can see that my FH is kicking my butt in steps taken in the past 7 days!!! (That's my favorite part) We've turned it into a mini-competition to see who can take more steps, which is a bigger challenge for me to do since I work at a desk job & he is on his feet for most of the day. :)

(Plus the fitbit app is available for both iPhone & Android, which is happy since he refuses to get an iPhone.)
  • The FitBit dashboard has a whole bunch of information - it breaks down steps throughout the day (shows you when you've been the most and least active), and it also shows you your progress over time. I honestly think their online dashboard is the biggest thing they've got going for them.

Like a PP said, you can also add other people, so there is another level of accountability (I love that I'm always kicking everyone's butt on steps! It's super motivating to keep it up)

I think it also speaks volumes that none of us have heard of the Striiv play - I tend to go with tried and true devices that are highly rated to begin with.
