Men's Warehouse

I've been getting a lot of coupons in the mail lately from tux companies. Men's Warehouse has been giving some particularly enticing deals. What kinds of experiences have people had with MW?

Also, does anyone know if I can expect to keep getting these cards now that my wedding is getting closer, or is this a "dead season" thing to drum up business?

I have heard some horror stories with MW.  The only personal thing was at FI  BF wedding one of the guys pants were huge!   I think the problem is they have inexperienced staff taking measurements.

My H arranged the tux orders and he used MW -- he didn't have any issues :)

Oh and we arranged it with my H here in DC, BM in VA and the other two groomsmen in MN and it all worked out :)

My sister had a couple of problems with them.  One of the guy's tuxes was the wrong size, but luckily he switched with an usher for pictures.  Other than that I haven't heard anything about them.  We're using Savvi.

I left that side of the decision making mostly up to DH (talked him out of pinstriped suits but he got everything else he wanted).  He and his dad went to look at tuxes while I was gown shopping and he said that they were uber pushy for him to sign up right then.  All he wanted to do was price stuff out and get to know their policies, get a feel for the designs etc.  When he heard them rave about their partnership with David's Bridal (which I had a horrible experience with and swore I'd never go willingly into the store again), it pretty much cemented the deal to go with Savii since I had spent weeks getting off of their calling lists even after telling them every which way to Tuesday that I didn't want any of my info shared.  I still get spam from them but at least they stopped selling my  number.

We are using Men's Warehouse and they have been great so far! The Burnsville location (outside of the mall) has been extremely helpful! We have also gone to one in Cedar Rapids, IA to have our groomsmen and ushers measured.

We didn't make it to the checkout, as the employees were very rude and uninterested in helping us/making a sale.

I guess it probably all depends on what location you go to for any store.  We went to a Savvi and they had 2 like 19ish year olds working who seemed totally annoyed that we came in the store... They were both sitting in the back and one even came out with his phone still in his hand.  When we stopped by MW we didn't experience any pushiness and they seemed glad (or pretended well enough) to be helping us make decisions.  Now I am just hoping the products that show up the day of are good!

As someone else said they partner with Davids Bridal.  With that being said I would be cautious of using a company that would make a partnership with a company as crappy as DB.  In the business world, your partners say as much about your business as you do.

I heard horror stories about MW. For a friend's wedding they had all the wrong tux sizes there when the men went in to pick them up. Ended up grabbing some pants off the display manequin.

Thanks for your input everyone! We're trying to save our guys as much $ as possible, but if it comes down to poor sizing, we might need to make some tough choices.

  • I went to Men's wearhouse and first no one would help us and than they got super pushy. Plus when i brought a swatch of material from my bridesmaids dresses they said they couldnt match it cause I didnt get it from Davids bridal and that unless I had the guys stuff made from my swatch of color, I wouldnt be able to match it. needless to say we left and went to Savii and a girlfriend of mines father went to Menwearhouse and the pants were highwaters and menswearhouse said it was too late they couldnt do anything to fix it, it was too late at that point. So defintely do not recommend.
