RSVP Card

So I know the traditonal outline of a RSVP Card.
But I want to add a place for Guest's Name. As we have a lot that are just X Name Plus Guest (I want to make escort cards for their guest not just have X Name's Guest) I was at an event like that and felt excluded. I also don't want to assume that our Guests will fill this out because I know plenty that don't. (although I have a back up and will number them on the back)

- Can I just do this?
 M_____
Guest's Name ________

Or is there a "classier"/better way to get this info?

TIA Knotties!

Re: RSVP Card

  • Just call the person you are inviting with a guest and ask for their guest's name.

I personally would not add in that line on the RSVP.

  • The guest's name should really be added on the M__________. That is what I have always done when invited as an "and guest," and that is what the few we invited with an "and guest" did as well.

It would just be: Mr John Smith and Ms. Stacy Jones

  • Leave it with
    M________________________________
(lots of space, enough to write out two names).
You might be allowing everyone to bring a guest, but not everyone will.  One line should suffice for most people to write two full names as needed.

This. I just did M_______. And yes, I've had two people respond with "John Jones and guest" on the line. *headdesk* So I'll call them and ask for their guest's name when I do escort cards. I had one person call and ask me about it and I said to give me their guest's name and meal choice by the deadline. He filled in his guest's name right away and sent back the card.

  • For couples who aren't invited with a guest, I think the combination of the M line and the guest name line would read weirdly -- I'd be wondering which line you wanted my name on! I'd just do the one, though I personally think M lines are ridiculous so I'd probably just do:

    Name(s): ____________________________

FWIW, I've always know to fill out the name of the guest when I respond. I thought most people did that anyway.
