ETA: My guests and I thank you for informing me that this is fondant. Had no idea. That means my cake is convered in fondant which is kind gross lol; I will change it to non-shiny buttercream (which looks better anyway) when I go in to give them the final count

Are you getting your cake pearlized? My parents insisted it would look better this way, but I'm having second thoughts. I'm not liking how some of the cakes I'm seeing like this look.
