rec your vacation spots

DH and I thought we were going to take a vacation in August, but decided we would rather take a anniversary trip in January.  We went to St Lucia. It was great, but we want to try something different and a place that has a direct from Newark or Philly.  Someplace Warm and no more than 3K plus air.

Turks and Caicos  I don't know how long you want to go for (it's a bit pricey) but it's gorgeous there!  American Airlines flies direct from Newark.

If you want short flight and more bang for your buck on the budget, why don't you try Mexico?

I ditto on the Bermuda post (It's absolutely breathtaking), but it can get quite expensive over there.

Bermuda is a nice Caribbean island, so clean and the people there are so well-mannered and friendly.

I second Barbados-- soooo beautiful and the people are fantastic. I also recommend Anguilla- gorgeous and if you are looking for R&R, it's perfect

We went to Bermuda in May and the water was quite cold. We loved Bermuda but we also love to snorkel and do water sports. B/c the water was cold it did not make the water time enjoyable. So going in January I am not sure but it may still be a little chilly.
We loved St John second to Maui. We had a great time there went for my birthday in Dec and the weather was georgous. We swam, snorkeled and other water sports. Lots to do between there and the other islands near by.

We went to Cancun this past May and I have to say it was awesome.  I was expecting drunken ppl being rowdy but much to my suprise it was the opposite.  It was completely relaxing, great activities, great food, great drinks, etc.  All inclusive @ the resort ran us under 3k.  We did activities on the side, as well, which weren't too pricey.

Want something quiet?  Roatan, an island off of Honduras.  I haven't been there but I'm hoping to make it there this year.

We just booked our anniversary trip and will be traveling to St. Maarten and Anguilla. Some of the vacations we have loved and would consider going back were Cancun and Aruba.
