Target Registry

Can I just say how incredibly dissapointed I am with Target?
We went there yesterday to register, and we had to sign up with the filthy-dirt covered machines, then we get handed a gun and go around the store and start shooting! :)

BUT-so then we get done...we return the gun to the service desk and I ask her if she has the print out to put in my shower invites, and she says "no-Target doesn't do that anymore, they discontinued it" So I say "So how are people supposed to know we're registered here?" She said "I dont know-write it in your invite or something."

So now FH is going to design some himself tomorrow at work, and print them out.

EDIT: Ok, I emailed target and they sent me a link. But I still think its pretty silly that they don't print out cards for people.

Ok im done ranting now..wish they had a delete button.

So sorry to hear it was a bad experience!

i LOVE target, but I have heard nothing but terrible things about their wedding registries. I registered there for my baby shower and by the time the shower rolled around (2 months later) 90% of the things i registered for were unavailable.

We are registered at target also.  I can't say that I have had any problems. Actually of the three places I am registered, it has been the smoothest at Target.  You don't need to design your own cards.  You can acutally print them of their website.  Click here.

Sorry you had a bad experience. HTH

Target was probably the easiest for us set up wise.  They just let us register and gave us a gun.  We didn't have to listen to this long spiel or anything like that.

Returns were a bit of a pain because we had duplicates because the registry didn't get scanned properly.  Thankfully we didn't have any major issues but they did screw up on a few items.

My sister register there for her Baby shower and it happened to be after my mom purchased the invites. We also had to design something to put in with the invite.

To be honest I don't plan on registering at Target just because of all the negative things I have heard. It is a shame though because I love Target.

I will say as a guest, I think it's much easier if the registries are a line printed right on the invite - that's what we did for my bridal shower.  I am so afraid that people (or me - let's be honest) would lose the little confetti-like paper that comes out when I open up the shower invites with inserts (and it's happened before!)

I have heard and read that it is a no-no to include info on where you are registered either in shower or wedding invitations.  The person(s) hosting the party are the ones who should know this information and can pass it along.

I guess some people feel you are greedy if you go this route.

I do not plan on registering at Target.  I have never cared for them or Kohl's.

PCL - Registry information should not be on or enclosed with a wedding invitation.   It is fine on shower invitations, since the entire point of the party is to shower the bride with gifts.

I just got a baby shower invitation for my future cousin-in-law and they just printed out clear labels with the target registry ID # and adhered them to the Buy-Buy Baby card. Worked well enough!

I also think you could put the registry info. on your wedding website if you're doing that and then put that on the STDs, shower invitations, etc., if you didn't want to put it on the invitation itself.
