re-sixpencing?

As chance would have it, I happen to have a 1945 sixpence from my grandfather. I also happen to have a very close friend who is getting married a few months after me. According to the traditional rules, would I be able to loan/give her my sixpence for her ceremony, or would that defeat the symbolism of "always having some money on reserve"?

Well, no one is going to be spending that sixpence anyway. ;-) I'd say to lend it to her, and it can be her "something borrowed," too.

I'm borrowing my BF/MOH from her wedding and it's counting as my something borrowed too. I say lend it too her and it will give it a special memory for you both to share.
