Hello fellow knotties!!!
It's been a long time since I've posted and I wanted to come back and post reviews and tell you about my wedding!!!
You know there is always something that goes wrong with weddings well....if everything goes wrong does that mean the marriage will go great? Lets hope so. I know everyone thinks "what else can go wrong" but I feel like there were way to many things that went wrong!!!
Pre-Wedding:
I got to spend some quality time with my dad--we go shopping for his outfits for Friday and Saturday and my rehersal dress. It was really good to spend time with him. My parents have been divorced since 2005 and one day I ended up inviting my mom and my dad's sister over for a cook out he wasn't too happy but it was nice since my brother and his FI was there. I also got some really cute shoes while we were out. Just quality time iwth him!! Also my mom, dad's sister (not my coordinator) came over and all 4 of us worked on my favors!
We got tons of declines-in most cases that would be great but we were required to pay for 150 ppl regardless of how many ppl less than that show up!!!
My Grandmother passed away 3 weeks before my wedding--actually it was the Thursday of my bachlorrette weekend get together! I was very close to her and it was really hard to know that I wasn't going to have any grandparents at my wedding. I had to cut my bach weekend short (even though friends came from PA, MD, and SC). My Aunt (dad's sister) was one of two primary caregivers for my grandmother and she was also my wedding decorator and coordinator so it was really tough for all of us. On top of that my Aunt lost her FIL 2 weeks before my grandmother-to the day!
I was home the entire week before the wedding and I had to get programs finished and the favors done. My mom and my Aunt and I spent an entire day doing wedding stuff. We had to make rehersal dinner centerpieces and I had to finalize the wedding centerpieces. And do finishing touches to things.
The Thursday before my wedding was the WORST DAY.
My mom, my cousin (MOH) and I spend the night with my Aunt (dad's sister) since we were at her house so late doing wedding stuff-mind you I had no clothes with me everything was left at my dad's house. It was a hard day since it was 3 weeks to the day since my grandmother passed!!! I get woken up at 6am with my Aunt histerically crying. Her MIL passed away!!!! So she had lost 3 parents within 1 month (she was very close to her in laws). My cousins (MOH, preacher, +their 2 brothers) lost 3 grandparents!!! So my aunt and cousin rush off to 1st make a wedding errand on the way to see their family. I go get my nails done which was nice b/c I had a BM just get in to meet me. I then get the unfortunate call from my FI that he finds out the guys (Groom, 7 GMs and RB) have NOTHING TO WEAR for the wedding!!! (I'll elaborate in reviews!)
We leave the nail salon then I go get a spray tan. I would like to enjoy it but my phone rings non stop. My mom is in search of a picture frame for my bridal picture. Its FI wanting to talk about the guys stuff and the cake lady talking to me about an issue with the grooms cake-that was an easy fix; I told her I trust her judgement and to do whatever she thinks she needs to do! FI is freaking out over the guys clothes. We had a BM and GM that was with Thomas so they were able to calm him down and help the situation.
Eventually, I am able to get together with 2 BMs, 1 GMs and FI at my MOH's house and she isn't even home. But I promised my FG that I would not miss her pre-school graduation (this was 45min from where I currently was at). So I had 1 BM help me work on programs until I had to leave to go to the graduation. The rest of those guys went to a nail salon where my groom, a BM and GM got pedi's and mani's--oh they got pictures too that I have yet to see!!!! After I left the BM went to meet up with my groom so they could go shopping for guys outfits.
The best part of that horrible day was where I drive to the graduation, had to stop my Michaels to get more program ribbon-meet my mom and find the perfect frame for my bridal pic--after she had looked all over that day for one and it was on sale. When I finally saw my FG's I just hugged them tightly and started balling, lol!!!!! I was able to drive back to meet everyone else and make some great stops--met another BM who brought me stuff I left at my Dad's house--went by the hotel to drop off Out of Town Guest Bags and finally back to Concord to finsih programs, and change clothes!!!
Needless to say I was tired that day!!!!
Friday was a little easier went by my aunts house to help out with packing up wedding stuff in a trailor, went by rehersal dinner spot to help set up, got ready and went to rehersal then rehersal dinner. The worst things that happend that day was 1) My friend forgot to give me my rehersal dress so I litterally had to change at the venue 2) I left my phone back in Concord and a BM got lost which no one had her number but me! 3) I forgot my rehersal bouquet and 4) we find out that we might not have 1 GM! I think those things were minor compared to everything else. It was hectic and hot at the rehersal. We didn't have the venue to ourselves which annoyed me; there was a swimming party so all this teeny boppers walking around in swim suits being loud and crap! My aunt was having a hard time getting everyone attention!
The rehersal dinner was great--perfect in like every way! I was so pleased with them!!!
Thats my pre-wedding recap!!!!
