DIY Invitations -- what did you use?

I would really like to design my own invitations and I was wondering if there were any other brides out there who have done this. If so, what software did you use (Photoshop, etc.)? Any other tips, like where you bought your paper, would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks !

I added things to my invitations to make them more my style. I bought my supplies at a scrapbook store.

I ordered the invitation kit through David's Bridal. My wedding is next month and is a winter theme so I scrapbooked them with snowflakes. The kit included the software but I couldn't figure it out so I formatted them myself on MS Word.

I bought paper at Joann and online (maybe paperandmore.com?), and designed them in PowerPoint.

I blogged about it here: http://high-tide-or-low-tide.blogspot.com/2010/07/wedding-invitations-are-out.html

I'm not very design-savvy, so I used an Etsy seller, but I did peruse this bio - http://squirrlyplanning.weebly.com/

She's a mod on the Invites & Paper and Etiquette boards, and has tons of guidance on designing your own invites.  If I remember correctly, she purchased a digital image of a flower, and used it in designing her invites.

I did use her measurements to give to the Etsy seller who designed our invites, because we used the same pocketfold invites from Cards & Pockets.

    Good luck!
