VENTING soo upset aot my saturday at the towers...

I am sooo angry!! and upset, and confused..

I was sooo excited for my appointment to head to our Saturday appt at the Towers. For our budget friendly RI wedding I thought it was going to be an awesome start to a morning of appointments.

Well was I in for a surprise. After waiting for 25 minutes for Kate to get to the Towers-- I called her. "OH HONEY, I FORGOT" what?!?!?! its your job. You forgot???
"Ill be there at 3 becuase I have to check in on a wedding, come back then" No actually., ,I drove in from Boston, Im not waiting around until 3. I have other appointments.

So then randomly, a friend of hers shows up. He mentions that Kate is at the Folk Festival in Newport-and was there all morning, so that is probably why she forgot.
She calls me ten minutes later- as Im leaving and said that her daughter is really ill today and sorry she forgot. I ALMOST BLEW MY GASKET AND WANTED TO ASK HER HOW THE FOLK FESTIVAL WAS GOING.....

I am so mad, beucase I was in Love with it after I saw it-- but how could I get married there when shes so flaky.

She didint even apologize. Im so upset about this. I was like holding back tears
its stressful enough to be planning a wedding-- its like im just another bride... OMG
 
She is supposed to be selling this place to me- and introducing it to me, I gave myself a tour. My mom even came in town for the showing.

I dont know if I should call her and tell her how unprofessional it was-- or just let it be. I am still considering it as a venue.

    I'm sorry that happened, but not actually surprised. Many brides on here will commiserate about how flaky she can be, but I've also heard that they don't have a ton to do with her after the booking. If you hire a DOC or the right caterer with a coordinator, that person will deal with her. I know you're on a budget, but the right DOC can help you save money, which will help you be able to afford them. 

    She was about 20 minutes late for our appt. and then was all scattered and locked herself out of her office. Then, I waited almost two weeks to hear back from her about our date because she "thought" another couple she penciled in had canceled. But they hadn't, and I must have called her five times before I finally got hold of her to learn this. Frustrating.

    It's a great venue and several girls here have had beautiful weddings there, so it's definitely doable. I know it's frustrating, though. I heard she was maybe retiring soon?

    oh god, I'd be bullsht!!  you should definitely say something to her!!!  she shouldn't be able to treat you that way just cause she works for a popular venue! Good luck.  
    ps:  i've heard weddings there are beautiful. and if you book and are looking for a caterer, my friend used Russell Morin and it was the best food I've ever had at a wedding!!  Plus, they helped her with everything and referred her to great rentals.

    Thanks! I wrote this last night and felt so upset...

    but on a side note-- We went to an open house/tasting at Russ Morins yesterday
    the food was incredible!! The menu that we picked out was so affordable and I loved every bit of being there.

    The woman at Russel Morin said they do have trouble contacting her, and its very difficult-- but that she would be the contact so not to worry.

    I considered having my wedding there, but my biggest deterent was not being able to get in touch with Kate to schedule a meeting to see the venue with my fiance. We ended up not pursuing it further partially because the thought of having to communicate with her scared me.

    A good friend of mine had his wedding there though and absolutely loved it. He completely echoed what most Towers brides say - let your catering coordinator or DOC handle the communication once you've booked. You don't have to speak with her much

    i2012do, we went to the open house at Morin's yesterday as well! The food was AMAZING, we're definitely booking with them. I got lucky with the Towers, my fiance happened to call Kate when she was in the office and we booked right away. It is a pain getting ahold of her I keep putting it off, but for the venue it's totally worth it. Such a beautiful unique space, and Morin's will deal with them so you don't have to. Best of luck!

    Mrssunshine2be! I bet we saw you. Actually the couple at the next table over from us was getting married at the Towers-- were you wearing a skirt and tshirt?

    I had the same issues dealing with Kate, it got so bad that my grandmother who lives down there drove to the towers and left her a note to call. 

    I booked the towers, because I love it! But I will say I haven't had to deal w/ her since, I have a DOC and also booked with Rusell Morins ( all of you were right, the food was amazing!!!)  So I won't ever have to deal with Kate or let her stress me out!
