Re: Talk About Your Bridesmaids Here

  • MOH - My best friend since we were little girls.  Our brothers were in boy scouts together and our families are really close.  She's loyal, fun, a complete ditz/scatterbrain, and she knows all my deepest, darkest secrets.  I would take multiple bullets for her.

BM1 -  My SIL.   Married my brother 9 years ago, they were friends from HS.  She's a total PIA but she's completely harmless and always gets sh*t done.  She's a wonderful mother, a super crafty craftaholic, and a Jesus freak.  We have a love/hate relationship but I consider her my "sister."

BM2 - My FSIL.  FI's sister, 2 years younger than me.  A total sweetheart who loves her family.  I always yell at FI because he's not nearly as nice to her as he should be.  I'm sad that she lives in Arizona because I think we would be a lot closer if she still lived in NJ.

BM3 - My cousin.  We only get to see each other a few times a year but it's always like we pick up right where we left off.  We're 2 peas in a pod.  She's a super-talented artist and really good with children.  I can't wait to hang her paintings in my new house.

BM4 - My BFF from middle school.  Hands-down the smartest, funniest, most loyal, craziest person I've ever known.  You either love her or hate her and you don't want to be on her bad side.  We have a secret language.  She terrifies and awes me at the same time.  She's my party girl.

BM5 - My newest BFF.  I've only known her for 4 years but she's the love of my life.  She was FI's friend first, but we became close very quickly (her FI is also in our WP).  She knows me better than most people who've known me forever.  She's a wonderful mother, extremely reliable, thoughtful, funny, and I've never had a bad time with her.  She's the big sister I've always wanted.

They're all really beautiful, too.  I hope none of them look better than me on my wedding day.  :)

  • MOH, my almost 21 year old daughter.  Loved her from the moment I knew she was born.   Must admit there were times when I did not like her, but I have always loved her.

DOH (dude of honor) my 19 year old son.  He is also walking me down the aisle.  Loved him from the moment he was born.

My kids are very close to each other, sometimes, not sure if I raised them or they raised me but either way, we all turned out pretty great.

  • MOH- My sister. We love each other and get along very well, but occasionally drive each other crazy. She's a little materialistic and sometimes a little spoiled and entitled. However, she's one of the few people that has always been there for me and has supported me no matter what.

BM1- My nerdy BFF. We're so nerdy it hurts. Back when we lived in the same town (I moved away almost a year ago) we'd having game nights, go to karaoke, and get involved in civic and charity activities. She's actually renamed my bridesmaids to "fangirls." I miss her face :(

BM2- My FI's cousin. She's also a pretty cool friend. She's into theatre (so are we) and is my conversational savior at family get togethers (FI, BM2, and I are the only liberals in the family). She's a lot of fun to hang out with and I miss having beers with her (we're both so busy and in different cities).

BM3- My friend/partner in crime. She and I became friends through a cancer organization (she's a breast cancer survivor), and we're like long lost sisters. I chair a committee for the cancer organization, and she's my co-chair, so we're always talking but don't get to see each other much thanks to the aforementioned move.

I love where I live now, but boy do I miss these friends. I can't wait to party with them at the wedding :)

This is going to take a while:

MOH: Best friend from college - She's literally my better half . . . I mean, other than fiance. Before I met my fiance and she met her boyfriend, we used to joke that we would grow old and adopt children together. She doesn't live in NY anymore because she's in law school. She's a lunatic and totally OCD, which is why we're meant to be.

BM1: Other best friend from college - First person I met during college orientation. We started talking and she emailed me from her TV while on a vacation in China the next week (hahaha - seriously, her parents said to her "if you could go anywhere, where would you go" and she said China - and then they went) and we've been best friends ever since.

BM2: Cousin - She's actually not a blood relative, but is my godparents' daughter. We grew up together and she's like a sister to me. She's crass and gorgeous at the same time. Like, model gorgeous.

BM3: FSIL#1 - I think at first she didn't like me, but we're much closer now because she lives in NY with us and we have family dinners and go to yoga together.

BM4: FSIL#2 - I think she liked me from the beginning. When she graduated from college last year, she moved to NY too. She's silly and introduced me to betcheslovethis.com

BM5: Law school roommate - She's a drunken bitch but I mean that in the nicest way possible. She's sarcastic and witty and beautiful and whenever we get together, we have dance parties. What's not to love about that?

BM6: Best friend from middle school - She's legitimately crazy, but I love her. She's the smartest person I've ever met and I'm in awe of her. Her father passed away right after mine did, which brought us back together. We weren't really friends in HS because I was kind of a mean girl, but I am so glad that we are close again.

BM7: My brother's girlfriend - They've been dating for like 7 years and she's the most adorable friendly person I've ever met, bar none. I think my brother's going to propose to her sometime after our wedding is over because he doesn't want to take the spotlight off of us (I have a great family).

    Edited for clarity.

BM #1 - Best friend, she went to my high school senior year, but we didn't meet until college orientation. Bost ended up going to ASU and ended up in the same dorm building too. She is my partner in crime, it is never just happy hour with us. More like happy hour and beyond...til like 2am, lol. She would always tell her bf that it was just going to be hh and then he would always get the call that its been extended. She loves to go out dancing like me:-) She currently lives in san Jose, CA.

BM#2 (FSIL) - My Fi's younger sister. She is the sweetest girl and so much fun. I'm actually really looking forward to hanging out with her in Vegas on my bachelorette party. I think she's my kind of party girl. She is a special needs elementary teacher and lives in Newport Beach, CA

BM# 3 - I met her freshman year in high school, we shared biology class. She is super smart and is a talented graphic designer. She lives in Redondo Beach, CA.

BM #4 - I met her at the same time as BM#3 and they are best friends. In high school we were in a mother/daughter charity group together where we had a senior ball (debutont ball) She owns her own sorority gift company and recently moved from CA to Georgia.
She is a little more reserved than myself, but is super smart and sweet. She amrried her high school sweetheart a couple years ago.
BM #5 - I've only known her 3 years, she was roommate when I lived in Scottsdale, AZ and was with me the day I met her FI. We met off craigslist to be roomies(scary i know!) Its also funny because I was with her when she met her BF. (I have a feeling they will be engaged soon) We met and moved in together and took a little while to open up with each other and hang out, but once we did, we were partners in crime.  She owns her own house and has a successful profession in the banking industry. She stil lives in Scottsdale, AZ.

This may take a while, seems like I have way too many.

BM 1 MOH- My brother's wife. She is older than me, but she has been in my life for about 20 years. She knows me the best and she has seen me at her worst and I at her worst. I am very close with my older brother and her. She is like the older sister I never had.

BM 2- My BFF. I have known her for like 13 years we worked at Toys R Us together while in our college days. We have had our really good times, and she has been there for me through everything.

BM 3- My other brother's wife. That is kind of all I have to say about this one.

BM 4- My FI's sister. She is the same age as me, and we have some good laughs together and I am the Godmother to one of her kids.

BM 5- My oldest friend. We have known each other since we were in 3rd grade together. We did everything together.  I know I can always count on her for anything she tells me like it is and doesn't sugar coat anything and I love that about her.

BM 6- My FI's cousin. We have kind of the same personality and we clicked instantly.

BM 7- One of my friends. We hated each other way back when, but some how we ended up conversating about FI and now she is one of my good friends. She has my back regardless of anything and I her. Her husband and my FI grew up together same school, same everything and till this day they are still friends so we just naturally grown closer.

JBM- My niece- She is 8 and I love her to death.  she is growing up way too fast.

FG- My other niece- she is 5 and she is funny as hell and i also love her to death. She could turn my worst day into the best day possible.

Matron of honor: My mom. I am closer to no one, and she is my closest friend. Sometimes people cry when I tell them this, and sometimes I cry too.

Maid of Honor: my best friend since 6th grade and roommate up until a few months ago when she moved into her new house and my fiance moved in.  We swam together for 8 years and have been inseparable. We get in trouble together way too easily. She is the one friend who will ALWAYS be there for me, but knows when i am better left alone.

BM#1: College best friend. We became BFFs during college orientation. She is the first one who ever predicted that my fiance was my "forever", and that we would marry. She can be self centered (she is the one I have vented about before), but she has a kind heart despite letting her self-centeredness get in the way sometimes.

BM#2: Law school best friend. We have a bond that is undeniable and unexplainable. We just get each other. We do yoga together and laugh together and I just love her. We also get in trouble too easily, whoops. Whenever we hang out, no matter what we are doing, it seems like our night will probably end with limes + tequila shots.

BM#3: FSIL1: she is the nicest person in the world, I felt like she loved me from the start. She got married a few years ago and lives with her husband in Atlanta. She absolutely is the 'favorite' of my fiance's family. Everything that my fiance does is compared to her, which gets annoying, but I can't hate her for it since she is a doll.

BM#4: FSIL2: She is the scientist who I can hardly have a conversation with she is so smart. She is getting her PHD in something related to finding a cure for AIDS (seriously). I thought she hated me for awhile, but she is actually just really awkward and difficult to talk to. FMIL is thrilled that I have gotten the girls swarovski pearl earrings because it will be the first "sensible" pair of earrings she has ever had (she kind of dresses like a dirty and non-trendy hipster).

Junior BM#1: My cousin. She is 15 and we are incredibly close. I have tons of extended family cousins, but she is my only first cousin who is a girl. She is the sweetest person in my whole family and lives in Toronto. I am thrilled to be including her in my wedding. Her favorite TV show is Say Yes To The Dress so obv. it was meant to be.

Junior BM#2: Fiance's cousin (who I am even closer with than he is). She is 18, so slightly old for a junior, but I needed her to be involved in my wedding and this was the best way. Even though she is still in high school, I have conversations with her all the time and it feels like she is my age - that's how mature she is. We are flying down to visit her in Orlando in a few weeks and she is taking us to Harry Potter world - I can't wait!

What a great idea! I love it :)

MOH - A: My sister, 2 years older than me (oldest sibling)
I chose her because she is my oldest best friend. She is special because she is always there for me, and tells me the truth no matter what (even when I don't appreciate it at the time - I always appreciate it looking back). She is really responsible and mature but also really fun and easygoing/spontaneous

MOH - K: My sister, 5 years younger than me (youngest sibling, there is a brother in between us)
I chose her because she is my sister and one of my best friends. She is special because she is so amazingly strong and independent, hilarious, outgoing, and brave. She always sticks up for the underdog, even when it means going against her friends or loved ones, and has no tolerance for bullying no matter who it is doing the bullying.

BM - KA: My best friend since 7th grade
I chose her because we have been through everything together since we were 13 years old and she is like a sister to me. She is special because she is incredibly intelligent (she got a full scholarship to university, and had her masters by 24 years old with Dean's List grades), but is also able to have fun and relax. She is supportive but also bluntly honest when she needs to be. She's hilarious and some of my funniest memories are with her.

BM - KR: One of my best friends since high school
I chose her because she is one of my best friends and I love her like family; her daughter is my goddaughter. She is special because she is the most loyal person I know. Once she considers you a friend/family, she will have your back no matter what. I've seen her grow from the funnest party girl to the most amazing mother and wife, and I have so much respect for her. She makes me laugh all the time, and she makes me feel like there's no one else she'd rather be with when we spend time together.

BM - A: She was my best friend through nursing school and my roommate for a year before I moved in with FI.
I chose her because she is not only one of my best friends, but she also knows and cares about FI. She was one of the first people to tell me she thought I would marry him, early in our relationship. She is special because she has a heart of gold and would do anything for the people she loves. She is so funny (sometimes unintentionally) and always up for an adventure. She pushes the people in her life to better themselves and reach their goals in a way that doesn't feel judgmental, and she encourages me to do things I normally wouldn't do.

  • MOH: Older Sister Lori:-  She is not only my sister but honestly my best friend.  We always kid around how we are going to be old ladies in rocking chairs together.  She seriously keeps me sane.. makes me feel normal and loves me for the exact person I am.  When we were kids we really didnt get along (she is 6 years older then me and the 2nd child so I took her spot as the baby)  But once I hit HS and she was in college we became really close.

BM #1 FSIL Jenn: Jenn is awesome!  She is super fun and I think has liked me since the start of our relationship :)  We have a blast when we are together and although at times she is a scatter brain and not very organized (exact opposite of me) I still love her!

BM#2 Best Friend Heather: Heather and I have been friends since the 3rd Grade :)  And we have stayed friends the entire time.  She is beautiful, smart and a blast to hang out with.  She has been with me through the toughest time and the best times and I honestly so grateful for her.

BM#3 Best Friend Char- We have known one another since kindergarten but did not become real friends since Freshman year.  Its strange because her and heather have been best friends since elementary school.  Anyway... Char is a nut and you just love her for it.  She is hilarious (like stand up comedian funny) and always just wants everyone around her to smile.  She is the friend that let's you bitch about anything and everything and will never judge you.

We laught because Me Char and heather are all best friends and we are a Red Head a blonde and a brunette.. its like the start of a bad joke :)

BM#4 Step Sister- OK well she is not really my step sister but should have been!  My mom and her dad dated for 10+ years.  At first we hated one another.. ok another lie i hated her.  But very soon after she won me over and we have been friends ever since!  She is amazing.  Not only is she my friend but also my hairdresser.  She always there for everyone and is just so loving.  She is that friend that i could not speak with for years and we could come back and it would be as if nothing ever changed :)

BM#5 Adult BFF-  So I have known Rachel since elementry school we just were never friends.  As young adults we hung out with the same group of people and instantly thought.. why havnt we been friends all these years?.. HAHA

BM#6 College BFF-  I met Julie on my first day of freshman orientation and then I couldn't get rid of her :)  We had every class together 1st semester and  became instant friends.  I was busy playing college sports so we didnt hang out much on weekends and then I tore my ACL and Julie saved me.  I made a ton of new friends because of her and she helped to rip me out of my self pitty funk.  Soph year we become roommates and then we both transferred from that school and now she is the only person left from there that i still talk too.

JR BM- My niece- She is the bomb :)  She is nine years old and I still look at her and wonder where the last 9 years went!  I remember like it was yesterday the first time i ever held her.  She is such a Diva (which is funny because my sister and I are so NOT) but she is beautiful so I guess how can she not be :)
  • Who are they and how do you know them?
Why did you choose them/What makes them special?

MOH: My sister. Let's face it, we've been partners in crime our whole lives, so there was never any question that she would be my MOH.

BM#1, We'll call her J.  We've known each other since we were about 4 years old when we played at the same park. We were friends in elementary school, BFFs in middle school and beyond.  I actually haven't seen her since we left for college (she went to Duke, I went to Washington...opposite corners, much?) and then I moved back here and she moved to New York (other opposite corners), but we still talk often, and there's no way I couldn't have her in my bridal party!

BM #2: We'll call her L.  We've known each other since we were freshman in high school when we sat next to each other in English class.  She's the best, most loyal friend I could ever ask for.  She's honest, I can talk about anything with her, and if ever I needed her, she would be here for me in a heartbeat, and vice versa. She actually cried when she found out she couldn't go to my bridal shower because she had a wedding to go to in California that weekend, but she called while it was going on so she could feel like she was a part of it. :)

  • MOH- My little sister. We fight, a lot, but the bottom line is that we are sisters and we'll do anything for each other. Even with her six hours away at school I know that she will be there for me. She actually wanted to be the flower girl! She's funny and smart and a complete nerd (she went to the Harry Potter convention!). She's also partially in charge of music since shes a music business major and would be mad if we only played the music I like lol. I can't wait for her to come home next weekend!

BM1- My BFF from Middle school. She is a year older than me and we met while on swim team. We've been friends ever since but we only got super close in the last few years. She's the only one (other than FI and his BM) of my friends who came to visit me and see me in a show in College and since we've both finished school we've become BFF. We are both teachers and huge Mets fans and love to hang out and talk about both. I know she is always there for me.

BM2-  My BFF from college. We met the first day of Freshman year and have been inseperable since. We are both complete theatre freaks and have done many shows together. She also the only person I know who is a pickier eater than I am, which means she doesn't complain when I am picky about restaurants. She lives in Billererica MA, which is 3 hours away from me :( I don't see her very often but when I do its like we were never apart. Just 3 more weeks until she's here for my shower!

  • MOH #1 (Sister): She is my only sibilings and at times we are best friends and the other times we could go at like opossing sides of a war. We are 5 years apart and she is only 19, but none the less I love her and am happy to have her at my side!!

MOH #2 (College BFF/Lifemate): We have been best friends/lifemates for 6 years! She is amazing! We met in college and we were in the same sorority and worked together for 3 years! I don't get to see her as much as I would like too, but she is always there for me (as I am for her). She is very helpful and works well with my sister and mom :)

BM #1 (FSIL): She is my FIs only sister. She is only 17, but she is a lot of fun and so supportive or FI and I. FI and her are pretty close for being 5 years apart! And I am so excited she is standing up in the wedding :)

BM #2 (Friend): I met her at my current job in 2009, she was about 7 months pregnant at the time. She is right arounf my age and we just instantly clicked! We were the same major in different colleges. She is a single mother and one of the most amazing people I know. I am so happy to call her a friend and a bridesmaid!!

  • Maid of Honor:  My oldest best friend.  We're celebrating our silver anniversary this year.  We met on the first day of first grade.  We have the same name and our parents are from the same country (Honduras--very random country).  If this wasn't meant to be, I don't know what is.  She's my low-key friend.  Order some food, watch some random film (horror, classic, foreign or indie),  drink some wine or beers, sometimes go to a dive bar and just talk about everything and anything.  Our families know each other (and not just in the US but our family in Honduras, too).  We understand each other so well.  For the most part we have absolutely nothing in common!

Matron of Honor:  We've known each other since we were 4 (28 years) but we became BFFs  when we were 10.  She's my party girl (but we can also just stay in and relax).   While I feel like we do have a more superficial relationship (talking about celebrity gossip, reality tv, fashion, etc.) we still do talk about all of our problems and she wil ALWAYS be there for me.  Only problem is that she's a social butterfly so when I need her she'll probably be at a baby shower, a bridal shower, a wedding, etc.

BM #1:  My Cousin.  She's 7 years older than me and when I was younger I always looked up to her.  Back in the 80s, I wanted her big hair and her pink lipstick.  We grew up together and I just have the best and funniest memories of her and her family.  Her dad is my dad's favorite cousin.

BM °2:  My closest friend in HS.  We met in homeroom on the very first day.  We never had any classes together cause she was way smart but out HR time lead to a beautiful 18 year long friendship.  She just cracks me up.  Her laugh is infectious. She was also a part of my first european experience.  She would break in my new shoes for me and get the blisters.   She's my partner in food.  Thank god that I'm in Italy and she's in NOLA or else I would not have been able to lose my wedding weight!  She's just great and we always have a great time together.

BM #3:  My ex-roommate here in Italy who is now back in Washington.  We met when we were 25.  She's 3 days older than me.  She's the reason I came to Italy (she was already heer in Verona and I didn't want to go to a city where I didn't know anyone).  I always tell her if she hadn't chosen verona, I wouldn't have met my FI.  I call her the catalyst.  We've had our ups and downs but we understand each other and she probably has been my closest friend since 2007.

BM #4:  My brother's FI.  I've known her forever but they've been together for 7 years.  We get along but she and my mom don't exacly see eye to eye.

  • MOH1- My college roommate. We met through her ex, who went to my high school on the first day of college. She is the one who pushes my buttons, but does it because sometimes she knows whats best for me, and i do the same for her. We have our ups and downs, but i still love her more than anything.

MOH2, My sister. Shes 19. and we are a lot closer now that shes in college. We can literally talk about anything with eachother, and shes always willing to go run errands with me, which is when we talk usually. She's got big dreams, and she'll go places.

BM;, a friend since high school. Well, we met sophomore year and didnt really hang out til senior year and freshmen year of college. I stood up in her wedding last summer, and since she's moved to lansing. Wine tuesdays with her were sometimes highlights of my week. So sad shes movin to kansas city in june.

BM2; a friend forever, and through high school. Our moms were friends, which is the only reason we became friends. We are complete opposites, but it works well somehow. She is also singing during the ceremony.

BM3; A very practical one.  We have similar tastes and styles, and she's always got a great story to tell. She would also do just about anything you asked, if shes not working the ridiculous hours she has to. I also stood up for her wedding last summer. Weve been friends for probably about 5 years.

BM4; FSIL.  I wish i knew her better. Shes a little out there, but a sweetheart and an excellent baker. But im sure since we have houses pretty close by, and im not in school anymore, we will see more of each other. also, Im sure ill visit plenty when she becomes a mom later this year.

FGs. 2 girls I started babysitting for in high school, and I still see them all the time. They are 6 and 8, and so funny.

  • Good thread :)

MOH: My sister-she is 4 years younger than me, and we've had our quarrels as all sisters do...but I love her dearly and she's one of my best friends! Now that we are older, we have a lot of common interests and enjoy spending time together.

BM1: My cousin- we are only 6 months apart and have grown up together. Our moms (sisters) are great friends, and we were always great playmates lol She moved to the same street as me a few years ago (then I moved across the country :( ) and that time period made us even closer!

BM2: A great friend from middle school through high school. I love her to death! I remember we became great friends in 7th/8th grade...other girls had started picking on her for something stupid and she was shunned by her current group of friends...

BM3: A mutual best friend of BM2 and I. BM3 and I weren't that close before the whole thing with down for BM2 (above), but somehow, we all kind of banned together and became amazing friends. I love her to death as well! We are almost like sisters, only we have never ever had a fight lol We don't all get to see each other as much as we used to since they are both married, and BM2 has a child, but we all still come back together whenever possible!

So much more I could say about all these wonderful ladies, but that's good for now lol
    imageAnniversary
  • MOH: My sister. She made me promise we'd be each other's MOH's when we were kids and that was the first thing she asked me after I told her I got engaged. We are soo, soo different, and she really frustrates me a lot lately, but I lover her to death.

BM1&2 (Best friends): I have to list BM1 & BM2 together, b/c we are really a package deal. BM1 and I became friends in MS and then we added BM2 when we hit HS. The three of us (plus one other girl that we're all less close to now) were totally inseperable in HS. We took drivers' ed together, got drunk for the first time together, made really crappy fake id's to get into bars in DC together. These are the girls that know me the best and will always be there when I really need them.

BM3 (Friend and "work wife"): She is really like a best friend as well. We met in our first job out of college six years ago. The first several months we were basically just lunch buddies with the occassional happy hour, but then she went through a rough breakup and we got a lot closer. We were definitely partners in crime at work, coming up with crazy schemes to make it look like we were busy as we were really playing scrabble online against each other or some other non-sense. When she would call in sick from work, ppl would immediately ask me what was up, just assuming I would know since I was her "work wife" (that's what my FI calls her). She moved on to another job last year and I moved out of the country, but she's the one friend I talk to the most regularly and she's someone I know I can really count on.

BM4 (Cousin): She is seven years younger than me, so I've known her her whole life. We've always been close. When her little sister was born and was getting all the attention, I made sure to give her extra attention and make her feel special, and we formed a strong bond that has really held up as we've grown up.

BM5 (Cousin): My mini-me. She was born 10 years and 10 days after me, and we've always just had a strong connection. She once told me that when I come to visit her, it's better than her birthday and Christmas combined, haha. She is just a really sweet person who can get along with anyone and I'm so excited she's a BM.

  • Only member of my bridal party is my MOH.  She is my FSIL.  For about ten years she has made me feel like I am already her sister and what better way to make me an official sister than have her stand with me on the day that it will happen.

  • Oh, I'll play!

MOH- My sister. She's three years younger than me and we did NOT get along growing up. If you'd asked me 5 years ago if she would be in my wedding, I would have said probably not. But over the last few years we've gotten a lot closer, mostly because I realized how hard it was for her to be my younger sister (I was an A student, and well-liked by teachers; she had a really hard time in school and teachers always expected her to be like me. I think part of her resented me for that). But anyway, we're really close now that we're both out of school and have jobs and lives.

BM1: My best friend from college. We lived across the hall from each other in the dorm our freshman year, then were roommates the following year. We were not good roommates, but we were able to stay friends even after that. We live a few hours away from each other now, so we don't see each other much, but when we DO see each other, it's like nothing's changed.

BM2: The wife of one of FI's groomsmen. I met her when she and the GM started dating (I actually knew the GM before FI did) and I didn't like her at first, but we became good friends once I got to know her. She's super funny and just a really caring, happy, fun person. She and GM got married last summer and she keeps pawning all her old wedding stuff off on me!

BM (BridesMan): My best friend from high school. We've been friends for about 10 years now. We--and a couple other friends-- were so nerdy in high school. More than once we got wrapped up in epic Monopoly games and lost track of time. His mom would show up at my house at 2:00am looking for him and we'd still be sitting around the table playing games. He ended up at the same college as FI and I and joined the same fraternity as FI, so they are good friends, too.
  • All of them are my friends, I have no sisters and neither does FI.

    MOH:
My best friend of 24 years, Janna. We are like sisters, we grew up together. We all knew 100% she'd be my MOH whenever I got married.

BM #1: Amy, we've been friends since the age of six. She's one of my closest girlfriends.

BM#2: Erica, we became good friends in college and we were inspearable during our college years. She's one friend that everybody should have.

BM #3: Ellie, she is one of my newer friends- we play softball together and I was in her wedding 2 years ago.

BM #4: Katy- she pretty much decided that she'd be in the wedding party, put me in an awkward position. But whatever, that's fine- she's my friend, but we have kind of like a roller coaster friendship. It's great most of the time then we get into huge spats :)

  • MOH-Man of Honor-My younger brother.  We've been best friends, and I can't imagine anyone better to give the title, too.  We were roommates when I still lived in Tennessee, and we're still super super close.  He's been working on his toast since I asked him over a year ago! :-)  I think that's cute.

BM-FI's Sister.  We've totally had our ups and downs (sometimes FI and her don't get along) but we had a few years where we were close and her being part of the wedding has brought that back again.  It is nice and unexpected!  Sidenote:  When FI's younger brother got married, FIsis was the only one in the family that wasn't in ANY of the wedding stuff.  And it was bad, like really really bad.  She hated his brother's wife (now ex-wife-longgg story) and never forgave her for that.  Anyway, FIsis being in the wedding was not my idea but FI talked me into it and I'm glad I have.

  • Maid of Honor-Best friend: I've been through more stuff with this girl than any other person in my life. We have been best friends since 3rd grade and even though we live 1000 miles away from each other, our relationship has grown stronger. She is the one coordinating the bridal shower and bachelorette party even though she isn't where we will be having it.

Matron of Honor-Older sister: I really couldn't decide between my best friend and my sister so I gave them both honor titles. When we lived together, we never really got along but after she left for college, we really grew quite close. She can always make me laugh and is there to listen to me complain.

Bridesmaids #1&2-Friends: My two bridesmaids are some of my pledge sisters from our college sorority. They are the two girls I still stay in touch with regularly and were there throughout college for me.

I'm so excited to spend our day with all of these people and all of our guests!
  • I read every single post and I loved all of them.  I'm glad you all shared.  :)
