Where you and the hubby going for HM??
Can anyone recommend a good resort in Punta Cana for HM?

We plan to go to Putna Cana too. A while back I asked some married ladies where to go...ill find that post and will repost later. Shoot..I forgot we suppose to be paying the dep for that soon too. Dang it...I almost forgot and get passports .

Hubby and I honeymooned in Punta Cana this past May at Iberostar Grand Bavaro. The resort choice was our splurge and it was well worth it! Awesome!! I highly recommend it! PM me if you'd like a detailed review.

I think MsAmeera25 honeymooned in Punta Cana also, but I can't remember which resort. I can't say much about the Punta Cana area itself because we only ventured off the resort once in 7 days for a day-long catamaran excursion. What I did see was beautiful, and everybody.....and I mean EVERYBODY....we came in contact with while we were there was most gracious and helpful. I don't know if it's just the culture there or what, but I have never vacationed anywhere where the native people were so friendly and pleasant. I didn't realize it until then, but that does make a difference in your vacation experience.

If I remember correctly, MsAmeera25 and her husband did a a lot and posted a great detailed review.

We stayed at the Catalonia Royal Bavaro the first 2 days and at Hard Rock Hotel for 8 days while we were there...Both were beautiful and nice but I prefered Hard Rock because it was more american and good food. And they had everything you can think of there.

My girlfriend was just married and just got back from Excellence Punta Cana and also loved it. If you plan on leaving the resorts on your own the taxis are very expensivie so it's easier to book excursions.

@MsAmeera and @ Pearls, Were either hotels Adult only? If not how was it with the kiddies? Also, I have been looking into the Majestic Elegance.. I keep reading good review on that one as well... I am so glad that you two can help us .. :-) Thanks so much..

Iberostar Grand is adults only, all-inclusive. Their family-friendly sister resort is next door and you have privileges there but their guests cannot visit or use the beach or other amenities at the Grand. The Grand is MUCH nicer, as are the pools and beaches; overall a much more upscale atmosphere. There is a casino and nightclub at the sister resort, however, so depending on what you want to do, it may be worth catching a golf cart or walking over.

I will say that the professional and traveler photos of the Grand on TripAdvisor are accurate....it looks exactly like the photos and there were no surprises.

Hard Rock was not adults only...but they have tons of adult only sections...pools, sections of the beaches, restaurants etc....To be honest I normally can't stand kids being around when i'm trying to relax but I never noticed any of them now that I think about it. The resort is huge and has tons of kid only sections so most of the kids were in those areas.
