And IF by some remote chance, I put the caller on hold to acknowledge you, do not profusely apologize for interrupting.....after all, isn't that what you MEANT to do?? Gheez.

Dear Ungrateful Co-Workers,

Yes, today is my birthday! No need to remember since I plan all the birthday parties in the office. A simple Happy Birthday or card would have been too much, I understand. Hey, me being extra cute on today was a hint, but either you didnt notice or you have too much pride to compliment me. Either way I'm out of here on October 24, and you know what they say: "You never miss a good thing till it's gone!"

Dear Students,

I realize that many of your parents may allow you to get away with being lazy and shiftless at home. However.....I ain't yo mama and you WILL NOT be an ornamental fixture in this classroom, YOU ARE FUNCTIONAL. You WILL participate in group discussions. You WILL turn in assignments. You WILL learn. This classroom is not a democracy, it is a DICTATORSHIP. Now, take out your pen and paper and prepare to take notes.

I sincerely apologize for your mistaking me with a babysitter. I didn't get a Master's Degree so that I could baby your spoiled child. I guess that the fault lies with me for thinking that at this point in their academic career, it should be nothing for an "advanced" level student to produce read three chapters from a novel and produce an essay in a week, If the work load is too much for your "advanced" level child, then perhaps you should consider moving them to a class where they move at a slower pace.
