Flowerman?

Ladies,

I met with the flowerman today and I am extremely pleased with them they stay around my budget and melissa is pleasant to work with. I was just wondering I can set up an appointment to make my flowers either Thursday or friday, I have a saturday wedding, at 9am or 2pm, she said it would take me around 2 hours to make the bouquets and few bouts and corsages I needed, and then about an hour to make my centerpieces at home (buying carnations in bulk from them). Which appointment time would you suggest?

I know on Friday I can drop off my stuff at the reception venue before 5pm and set it up so i was figuring about 2 hours depending on how many people can help and then rehearsal at 6pm and dinner afterwards, I don't know what else I would have to do those 2 days, I know the already married ones will have an idea for me :)

Thanks in advance

I'd go with Thursday.  Things I did on Thursday before my Saturday wedding were to get my mani-pedi, bikini wax, get items ready and finished that need to go to the reception venue, and treated my bridesmaid who helped me so much the last 2 days to dinner.  On Friday, I dropped things off at the reception venue and they setup for me (loved them!), put together welcome bags for those staying at the hotel and dropped them off, lunch with future H, best man, and bridesmaid (it was the 3 year anniversary of our first date so we had to go to "our" restuarant), and finally got ready for the rehearsal.

I used the Flowerman for my 11-11-11 wedding and....most of the flowers are still alive! Some are in our garage, so it is nice and cool there, but still, it's been almost a month. I would just choose whichever appointment works best with your schedule. I did mine in the morning the day before my wedding. But then I literally came home and showered and got ready so I could make it to our rehearsal.

Just curious - could you all share your budget and what you got for it? I'm thinking about using them because I have $$$ taste, and think that if I go this route some things that would have been out of my budget would now be in it. Also, how far in advance should you book with them? Our wedding is a year and a half and I want to make a note about when to start calling florists.

I would also agree with doing it on Thursday! The less you have to do the day before, the better.

Flowerman was one of my top picks for florists. Melissa was super nice when I met with her! And very helpful. We are going with Bloomtastic instead but only because they were better able to stay within my budget. Suprisingly the Flowerman's DIY route was not significantly cheaper (in our case) as I thought it would be.

We booked with Bloomtastic like 7 or 8 months out from the wedding. The earlier the better though with most vendors!

    :)

I agree, do it Thursday. The more time for last minute things the better.
