Re: A few pix

  • Thank you all.  We had a blast--exactly the reception we were hoping for:  a big party for our family and friends!  I'll let you know when we get more and when the pro pix go up.  We had a great team of folks working with us.  And, even better, all super nice!!
  • You looked beautiful. Makes me so anxious for mine. Its in 27 days. SIGH!
  • You looked gorgeous!!!  So are you at all relieved that it's finally over?  I love the planning, but I don't think I'll be too sad the day after...not only will we be married, but no more planning!!!

  • Hey Weezie--I actually wrote a response to you hours ago.  Then work interrupted and I forgot to post it.  Oh well.  Basically, I said that I loved planning the wedding, but that it was time for that phase to END.  We were ready, especially my husband.  (I was a bit short sometimes toward the end, but I think brides--no matter what our age--feel some freakish pressure that most grooms seem to escape.

We had a long engagement (1/1/10), but it was broken up by a political campaign, so other than booking the big things that had to be done early, I did a lot of things after November.  During the campaign, though, I was obsessing over this site, Style Me Pretty, etsy, and others.

It's funny, though, I really stopped checking out SMP daily about a month ago when I'd put all the decisions to bed.  There really is a natural progression to this process.  I still look at it occasionally, because I think it's a beautiful site, but it's not a conversation like we're having here, so I'm not compelled to check in.

I am, and will remain, compelled to watch Randy Finoli and "Say Yes to the Dress." Forever. Period.
  • I'm glad to hear it.  We are having a long engagement too.  In 13 days it'll be the year anniversary of when he proposed...and we still have another 13 months before we get married.  I wanted a long engagement because I knew I'd be busy with other life things and I didn't want to stress about everything.  We were in escrow for a new house when he proposed and I am still trying to finish up school.  I am enjoying the planning, but sometimes I wish we were getting married this June so I can be done with it! : )  FI thinks it's going to be such a disappointment and let down for me after the wedding is over because I'll have put so much time into planning.  I don't think it will be.  I think you are right...the natual progress will take its course and regardless of how much fun I had planning, I'll be happy for it to be over with.

And I think I'll forever be watching "Say Yes to the Dress" AND "Four Weddings".  I LOVE both of those shows!!  : )
