Rehearsal Dinner Music

We are having our rehearsal dinner at a location where all they provide is the location, tables, and chairs. Our guest list is at about 40 people. We are stumped on what to do for music. We found a reaonsably priced DJ but we aren't sure if people are going to dance or not. The other option would be to do it myself with ipod and speakers but then I'd have to download a bunch of music. Any other options I'm not thinking of?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Music

  • I don't think it's necessary to have a DJ, but I understand the need for background music. Pandora would be a good option.

I have never been to  a rehearsal dinner where there was music and dancing. Mostly, people ate and socialized. Background music would be nice. Downloading a few hours worth of music on your own shouldn't be too much trouble. Is this something your fi might enjoy doing? Or you could skip it altogether.

  • Thanks for the feedback!!  My FI is deadset on not calling it a "rehearsal dinner" since I guess that sounds to formal to him but it really is.  I'd be fine with just background music so I will talk to him about it and tell him that we can save $200 (from DJ) and just use my dad's ipod and bose speakers.
