Bouquet update

I went and talked with a florist yesterday. It was pretty fun, except my little one makes everything a little challenging! I got to go through the florist's little books of flowers. Each one was by color so it made it a lot easier. I found the lilies that are in one of my favorite bouquets. They are called Sumatra lilies...you learn something new everyday. So I'm pretty excited to have my bouquet made by someone else, and I might have the corsages for my mom, Chris's mom, and Chris's grandmother made by her too. I just know that I'm going to be so busy doing everything else, and I don't want to stress myself out too much.

I was given the prices per stem for the flowers that I want . Here's the breakdown:

sumatra lilies - $9 per stem
calla lilies - $8 per stem
black magic and black baccara roses - $5 per stem
fiddlehead ferns - $25 for 10 stems
ivy - $12 for all the ivy I would need
Peacock feathers - If I use them I will be supplying them.

    Thanks brit! I have imagined what it will feel like when I see it for the first time. I'm hoping to get a picture of my first reaction. I was just going to make it myself, but I get stressed easily and I just want less responsibilities. It feels good to know that this and my cake are being taken care of. I just need to plan out the bridesmaids bouquets all over again, and I'm hoping to get someone to be my eyes and ears to make sure everything gets done on time and is set up properly. Yup, I feel really good about this decision...but it comes with the cost of $125 price tag.

    I think $125 is a small cost, when it comes down to the fact that you won't have to worry about it. Plus you have a long time to save now! Lilies get to be expensive, I was actually expecting your bouquet to cost more!

    I've budgeted to pay around $150 for my bouquet, since I really have no idea how much it'll cost for mine. I'll probably wait until I get my job back to go to a florist, I hate being so broke, I want to buy everything now and get it over with! haha

    My mother is a master designer florist... yes, you can all hate me, but I'm so relieved! she's helping me figure out which flowers are purple and blooming in season. To fit my Scottish theme she found these thistles that are not so prickly but still look totally wild. Available year round and affordable, some of you ladies might love them... arg, can't remember the name!
