High Heel Bridal shoes at an outdoor wedding

My fiance and I are both quite tall, but I still love high heels! I want to wear 3 or 4 inch heels with my wedding dress, but we are getting married lakeside in the grass. I'm worried about my heels sinking and getting really dirty or what if I fall?  ~ yikes! Any thoughts here? I would still like them to be feminine and pretty for the "garter removal"

Get some solemates--they're little plastic covers for the heel of the shoe that distribute your weight to keep you from sinking and ruining your shoes. They slip off easily for photos or when you go indoors.

Edit: I'm also a huge fan of wedge heels. There are a ton of great ones (bridal and non-bridal) out there these days. Coloriffics has some nice ones.
  • You could also do cute wedges.
  • ditto wedges.
OR...you can wear 2 pairs of shoes...outdoor shoes (flats or wedges) & indoor shoes. (your 4 inch heels)
  • Being a shoe fanatic myself, I say get two pairs (if you can afford them)!  No one will see your feet during the ceremony anyway, so you may as well go with something that you know won't cause problems, and then change into something fabulous for the party.
  • Thank you everyone! ALL awesome ideas!!!!
I had never heard of "solemates" ~ googled it and there they were! About $10 for anyone who's interested. I may do that since the ceremony and reception are all outside and I had my dress made long enough for the high heels... first time I've used this post, so glad I did! :) thanks again
