Wedding Water

Hi ladies!

We have decided that one of our wedding favors is gonna be personalized water bottles, chilled on ice, especially ready and handy for the ceremony. We are getting married in the middle of July, outside, and with good luck - we'll have nice warm summer weaather! I am sure people will appreciate the cold water to cool themselves down!

Here's my quesiton - besides the obvious - laminating the labels I make and wrapping them around the bottles - do you have any good tips on DIY water bottle labels?? Thanks!

you may want to check with your venue, when i got married our venue handed out glasses of champaign and fresh strawberries as the guests arrived,if your venue does something like this the water may be a waste of money.

Just curious, why would you spend so much time and money on something that is going in the trash?  No one is going to keep the water bottle.  You can give water, but the label is just silly.

Check out the DIY board, I think few of the ladies have a template in their planning bio.

    Ditto times 100  CA2's post.

My DD was married outdoors in July.  We had galvanized tubs of water for the guests in the ceremoy.  I can't imagine ANYONE, A.N.Y.O.N.E. being happier that the labels had the bride and groom's names on them.

    You're way overthinking this.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Oh, and Wedding Water?  Really?  That's hilarious.  As if it's any different than Poland Springs, or tap water.

The wedding ndustry strikes again with ramping up something simple and basic into "WEDDING!!!!!"

    Whoa, whoa!

The water is coming from Costco - 35 bottles in a case for just under $4. I'm making & laminating the labels myself.....I'm not spending even $50 on this project. And it's something that we think is a fun, cool different idea.....

I'll go to a different board, just thought this one would maybe have a couple of cool ideas. Jeesh!

I don't think you understand.  The cost is not the point, it's your time and effort into something that will be thrown away.  If you want a "cool idea" design something cute on the galvanized tubs.  Or create a stick-in that says "to refresh our guests (or something cheesy)" That you can put on a stick and literally stick in to the ice in the tub.  BUT, if you do go through with this lamination and time and effort, PLEASE come back and tell us how that worked out for you.

We will have to agree to disagree here..!

Maybe it's that we started planning our wedding over a year ago & we have the time and WANT to do this - I really don't see it as that big of a deal.

And yes, I will let you know how it worked for us. :) I am sure it will be great!

I have seen a lot of people do this.  I know if you go back to previous posts you will find some good tips.  You can also look on etsy.com for ideas.

    Good luck!

We are doing the wedding water too. It was a nice, cheap little extra we could add to the day! However, instead of making my labels by myself, Oriental Trading offers one. You get 50 lables for $4...but you only get to add text, its pre-designed. I was going to do them myself, but then I found these, so I went with them. I am sure your bottles will turn out beautifully!

We did them and I actually had a few people comment that they thought it was a nice touch.  We didn't chill ours, so I didn't worry about laminating them.

The cheapest water we found was actually at CVS.  They often have cases of 24 on sale for under $3.00.

Here's a blog post I wrote about making them.
