My corny resolution.

The past year or two FI and myself have gotten in to a rut. We used to do nice things for eachother without expecting anything in return. Lately it has been, "you don't do nice things for me, so I am not going to do them for you".

After reading The Five Love Languages, we have both been making more of an effort, and it has made a huge difference! Not even joking! So my resolution is to be a better partner. I want to be a better FI and I want to be a great wife. It sounds so corny but I thought that maybe a few of you may relate. :P

Re: My corny resolution.

  • I snapped at Fi today. I litteraly snapped at how I feel that he treats me like one of the guys or a "play" toy (we are waiting for marriage, but he has become too pushy)

I can understand your resolution. I think it is a great one.

  • I think that is a great resolution, not corny at all!! Anything that will make your relationship stronger and better is not corny in my mind.

  • I really like your resolution, I don't think it's corny at all!  I think that is something that my fiance and I could work on too.  We have The Five Love Languages that we borrowed from my brother but we haven't read it yet.  I mentioned it to my fiance after I read your post but he seems more concerned with playing his video games so I might just read it by myself.

It was our homework from our marriage counceling. I thought Chad would read it and just brush it off, but he acutally is working on stuff too. I hope you can get FI to read it. It is super short and easy to read.

  • I love the Five Love Languages. We both read the book before we we started dating so we were able to tell each other what our Love Langeuages are.

In Premartial Counsoling we are reading Love and Respect. Great Book . It is christian base.

  • FI and I read The Five Love Languages out loud together. It was a good starting point for some really good discussions! FI and I made some similar resolutions about being more patient with each other, thinking before we speak, working on being better communicators, etc.
