Venue help

I have spent a lot of time searching for a wedding venue in the Boston area, including the south shore, cape cod and a little west of the city and I am having a hard time finding one within out budget. I am having the ceremony and reception at the same place and need a room or partition to have the ceremony inside in cars of weather. We are in between contemporary and modern. I think the guest count should be around 120 and we are looking to spend about 10k to 15k on venue, food and alcohol. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am open to rhode island as well. It also needs to be a summer wedding because I work in a school

I live out in California and I am returning to mass in a few weeks.

Thanks so much!

Re: Venue help

  • My venue is out of your range, and I'm not sure what kind of feel you're going for, but what about Camp Kiwanee?  One of our friends had their wedding there and it was so much fun.  They got married outside overlooking the pond and the ceremony was inside.  It requires a caterer so you can pretty much make your own budget there.  Then we did smores outside in firepits afterwards.  So much fun.

We had other friends get married at the Coonamessett Inn on the cape.  I think it'd be in your range but not sure.  That was really nice.

Another wedding we recently attended was at the MA horticultural society which was gorgeous.  It was supposed to be outside, but it was raining so they had a closed in tent.
  • Thank you for the ideas. I contacted the MA horticultural center. Where did you end up getting married?
  • Try the Saphire Estate in Sharon, MA. We are paying around 15k for a November wedding for about 150 guests. Summer will obviously be more, but if you have a lower guest count than us, it could work out in your budget! We got two meal choices, 2k towards the bar, and a bunch of extras too within that price. Their room was recently redone and is beautfiful. The courtyard is nice for outdoor ceremony too. Good Luck!!

  • I grew up the in Sharon and all of our reunions and retirements parties have happened at sapphire manor. It is beautiful but I was looking for somewhere where a little different. Congratulations on your wedding!
  • I've been to a wedding at Camp Kiwanee as well and it was amazing! FI's cousin got married there and if she didn't I totally would have looked into it more! You can bring in pretty much everything so it fits in many budgets!

Also the Saphire Event Group owns the Villa in addition to the Saphire Estate. I am getting married there in the summer on a Saturday and had an original guest list of 150 people. They do have minimums on weekends during the summer which are about 23K. I'm not sure about a Friday or a Sunday if you are willing to look into those days as wel it's probably cheaperl. The Villa has two ballrooms and a tent.

I also looked into Scituate Country Club which was in your budget.

<div>We were married on Sandy beach in cohasset and our reception was at The Atlantica in cohasset.  We paid $120/person for a great cocktail hour, salad, soup, an amazing dinner, and cupcakes.  Full open bar for 4 out of 5 hours.  </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: I guess it is in your budget now doing the math, but at the high end.</div>

</div><div>Thanks.  My parents looked at the atlantica and really liked it.  The only problem is where to have the ceremony.  I was hoping to have both at the same place but that isnt possible.  I want something inside becaause of the weather.  do you have any ideas?</div>
  • Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton is very reasonably priced, offers a great wedding package, has room for an indoor or outdoor ceremony, and the grounds are beautiful!
