Bridal Store Closing Destroys Dresses

I woke up this morning to see this article on my yahoo account:

It's breaks my heart because a friend of mine who has breast cancer started up a business called Breast Dress Project a few years ago where women donate their used gowns for resale and the money made goes to breast cancer research. I see this story and I can't help but see all the money wasted that could have been put to good use or fulfilled someone's dream :( It's especially sad because my friend is not doing so well...

    I saw this yesterday. How sad that they would deny making someone elses dream come true... money for research, unable to afford a dress, whatever it is.... just because they wern't going to make any MONEY!! I just hope for their sake they are never put in a position where they need something.... it is a VERY ROUND world and karma is a BI**CH!!!! You ALWAYS get back what you put out!!!

    Davids bridal really screwed this one up. (they own PoB) Apparently they apologized and are gathering up the rest of their samples to see what can be donated to charities with mentioned above.

    That's absolutely ridiculous! I can't believe they'd do that... Even if they collect and donate the rest of them, the damage is done to their name! So sad.

    Isn't that disgusting?  I saw this a few days ago and it made me sick.  These dresses could have been donated.  Even if the designers didn't want their dresses in second hand stores they tags could have been removed.  Honestly, if a store is going to behave like this they don't desrve to be in business.  And Ladies: David's Bridal is their parent compant--they ordered this.

    I posted this on another board a few days ago.  It is so wrong on so many levels.  It shows greed on the part of David's.  They were more interested in making sure someone else didn't profit if they couldn't.  If profit were their concern, a donation should have equated to some form ofbusiness  tax credit. Now they have nothing and a whole heap of bad publicity.  Not cool David's.  Not cool at all.



    Love is the ultimate superpower.   
    It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

    I thought I read that David's Bridal was not responsible for this and that it was an isolated incident at one of the PoB stores that was closing...
