What vendors do you feed?

I have about five vendors that are going to be at the reception for a number of hours - I'm assuming that I should feed all of them, correct? I've got the photographer + her assistant, the two ladies from Scheme, and then the DJ.

Did everyone else feed them too? Am I going about this the right way?

We fed our photographer, DJ and photobooth attendant. Our wedding was at a golf course so the rest of the staff was covered by the venue.

I would assume you feed them all. You should look at your contracts to see what it says. Also, your place may have a cheaper vendor meal, you can look into that. Ours has the meal for vendors as $45 vs the $98 for our guests (price includes booze)

We made enough food available for all of our vendors who had active roles in the wedding and reception, hair & makeup too. I'm not sure if any of them actually took a moment to eat though; wish they could have but they all stayed so busy.

This is good info - I'll have to check with them. I don't really want to pay full price (full price incl taxes is about $170 / pp with booze), but if we have to, we will. I don't want anyone passing out b/c they haven't eaten!!

We fed DJ, photographer and videographer since they were at the reception. The makeup artist was a guest of the wedding, her husband was in the WP.

The nice and very much appreciated thing Is to feed them. I can't tell you how many times I'll photograph 10+ weddings and I don't get fed. (and it's in my contract and tell the couple) they'll def. Appreciate a meal!

Your venue should have some type of vendor meal option they can throw in; you don't have to give them the same food as the guests receive. Our venue made a bunch of wraps for the vendors and I don't think it cost us more than $200 to have enough for all 12 to 14 people who could have potentially eaten.

My venue is charging me $27 PP for vendor meals. Burgers and fries. All photog tested and DJ approved. My piano player declined.

My contracts state that either I feed them OR they can leave the premises to feed themselves. I opted to feed them.

I am NOT buying an alcohol package to cover them either.

Thank you this info!! I was just going to order my vendors the same meal as my guests but I would love to save a few $$. I just email CP about getting a discounted vendor meal. This board is the best!!!

Ask each vendor. Our photog has to have food. Our DJ (Godzilla) said he never eats while doing a wedding b/c it's a performance for him. They're all different. Most I've talked to don't seem to care what you feed them, as long as they have enough food for an actual meal.

Photog said one wedding gave him a bag of chips and a soda. That resulted in him putting a food clause in his contract since he's onsite 8+ hours. If he doesn't get fed, he has to order or go get some, which cuts into time he'd be spending on photos. Makes sense to me.

My photographer has a similar clause to PP's. They say they must be fed a "hot meal" or be allowed to leave for an hour to get a meal.
