  I've never heard of someone having an ivory cake to match their dress.  No one will care if the cake and your dress are the same color.  I really can't imagine the cake topper looking bad on an ivory cake, but if you are concerned about it then just get a white cake.

  I'm pretty sure our cake was white, but my dress was ivory. I don't think I, or anyone, noticed.

  I think you should be fine, no one will be thinking that your cake and cake topper clash.

  I had a white cake with ivory ribbon.  I used a mix of white and ivory in my wedding.  I see this question all the time but when I was planning, it never occurred to me to think about it.  Here's my cake:

  No one will gasp at the difference between whites and ivories. Get whatever cake you like and whatever topper you like.
