Which time of year?

I was writing hopefully to get some opinions from people on hte time of year that we should have our wedding. I have been on this message board a couple of times, and have really found all of your opinions so helpful!
So we are trying to decide between having our wedding in July or November! It has come down to the wire, and our venue is just waiting for us to make our decision! We got engaged in April, so we have been engaged for sometime, and are just ready to get this show on the road. We were thinking November because it is farther away and we will have more time to save money and plan. Also, I love love love Christmas, and have always wanted a Christmas wedding. However, we have heard so many negative things about having a Christmas wedding because it is very hard on people, so we decided Noovember would be better, and I could still have a winter wonderland theme!
However, July is sooner and we are really ready to get married!  My fiance (being amazing as he is) suggested we do a Christmas in July theme. I am just trying to envision that, and it is hard to do! July is perfect timing also because my lease in my apt. will be up, and we would be able to move into a new place as a married couple (we do not live together). If we did it in November, I would have to find a place to live for 4 months, or do a month by month lease November would be perfect, but it is so far away. This is a huge decision, and I am indecisive as it is! Help!!!

(Sorry for the novel)

If you're considering any kind of outdoor event, I would suggest early November (though can be cold) over July.

Other than that I can't suggest much.  It looks like you've already got a lot of the concerns laid out (and are leaning towards July?)

I think it's ultimately what's best for your situation.  If you honestly need the time to save up, then I would push the wedding back until November.

Like Donna said, I would not have an outdoor wedding in July.  And honestly, I really don't know how you'd pull of a "Christmas in July" theme for a wedding without looking super cheesy.  I don't know, I just can't envision it.

Honestly, I almost had my wedding in November because it just seemed like a good month.  I think if you have it early enough in the month, then it won't be hard on guests and family members.

I wouldn't get married in July for the most part.  I would hate having to wear that heavy dress during the hottest part of the year.

    November!  :)  But I'm biased.

But ditto Julie--the thought of having a summer wedding in Texas sounds awful no matter where you're having it.  I agree with Mariah about the Christmas in July too.  I loved having my wedding in November though.  The weather was perfect.  And I needed every bit of my 10 months to plan it too.

Personally I would choose November.  The weather sucks in July.  Plus, I'm guessing a lot of the better vendors are already starting to be booked for July.  Having the wedding in November means you would have a longer time period to do interviews and find a vendor that you really want and book them in plenty of time.  Also, some dresses can take a few months to come in and then you still have to get it altered and your bridals done (if applicable).

If you try to push it up to July, I think you might feel overwhelmed and stressed.  But in the end, I think it just depends on how much you are doing yourself and if you think July is really feasible.

    Couldn't have said it better!

Except I had over a year to plan and it was perfect for me with my busy schedule. It's only 4 months...you really won't notice the time difference THAT much especially if you have a lot of things left to do in July :)

    Good luck!

    I vote November.

I want to go outside and have fun taking photos and be at least semi-comfortable.  It's waaay too hot in July IMO....however if your event will be mostly indoor then I think July is fantastic.  You probably wouldn't have to worry about rain.  :)
