I need some opinions...I'm only having 2 bridesmaids plus my sister wll be my maid of honor. However, I feel bad leaving a couple of my girlfriends out of the wedding party especially one of my girlfriends whose wedding I stood in a over 5 years ago and another girlfriend whose wedding I will be a bridesmaid in this October.
Should I feel obligated in asking them to be a bridemaid in my wedding even though I'd prefer to not have several bridesmaids. I was only planning on asking my sister, my close cousin and best friend. Two of my other girlfriends I'm going to ask to do a reading at our ceremony, but then started to ponder about my other two girlfriends whose wedding I participated in.
What to do? What to do??!?
Re: Bridesmaids?!?!?
I would stick to your original plan and just have your sister, cousin, and friend. Your girlfriends will be just as happy to just have fun at your wedding together.

Wedding stuff.
Nobody is owed a spot in your WP. If you would rather not ask them, don't do it.
Those exclamation points? They're for you.

[QUOTE]Snippylynn... Excuse me but that’s what these boards are for…WEDDING QUESTIONS and SUGGESTIONS!!! Or did I miss the memo and this is no longer a wedding website?

<div>Like many others, Snippy doesn't like excessive and unnecessary punctuation. The plethora of exclamation points could be reserved for something truly amazing, such as, "I won the lottery and am now $400 million richer!!!!"</div>
Oh, as for my “ excessive punctuation” that seemed to offend some of my fellow brides to be, especially Snippy wasnt what I was referring to. It was her comment about my bridesmaid question being “inane”. I’m new to this site especially posting on the wedding board and had no idea it could be so critical. Whew..I’m glad I know now!

However, I do appreciate everyone elses positive feedback.

It's the internet. We know you only by what you present to us through your words and demeanor. If you use excessive punctuation, you are shouting at us and getting entirely too loud about things that don't deserve that kind of volume. If you ask a question that is covered in at least three threads per week, then you ask women who are here to help you to answer the SAME QUESTION for the UMPTEENTH time, because you couldn' t be bothered to search prior to asking. Also, by now criticizing Snippy, you pretty much burst into a room full of people (who already know one another) shouted at them to answer a question (the answer to which was posted on the wall when you entered), and then elbowed your host's sister in the ribs on your way out. What I'm saying is, you're not doing yourself any favors by continuing this.
In the future, lurk a bit. Get a feel for the boards prior to posting. If you have a question, use the search feature- you may find that a previous bride has already asked it and received thorough and helpful answers. If you're still unsure, feel free to start a new thread. Remember that you are presenting yourself to a community who does not know or understand the slight nuances that make you so you-y. Use proper English, utilize spellcheck, and tread lightly in the realms of punctuation and caps. These are the basics for internet messageboard posting success. Go forth.
