Budget Friendly beach wedding venue!

Hi everyone! We are planning a summer 2014 wedding, and will be inviting ~115 people. We're really struggling to find a venue that we are willing accept the cost.  My parents are being more than generous, but I just can't seem to justify spending 20K+ for 1 day of our lives.  We'd much rather have that as a down payment on a house...or a new boat :).  We started our search in CT and RI but haven't found anything we are in love with, so we are now expanding to MA.  We're looking for something on the water (or at least close to the water for pictures), very informal and casual. We love the idea of a clambake but understand that usually costs more!  Some places we have liked online include the Falmouth Yacht Club and the Flying Bridge Restaurant, to give you an idea of what we are looking for.  We are planning to visit them in a few weeks.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on locations we should look into either on the Cape, or in other parts of the Boston area? I would imagine that there has to be some venues on the South Shore, but I haven't had any luck finding any.

Thanks!

We are having our reception at the East Bay Grill in Plymouth.  We love their food and felt their prices were very good.

We are getting married at bourndale function facility in plymouth (capefuntions.com)  It is in a lake guests can go on the pontoone boat during cocktail hour.  The thing we love is the ability to stay over night with our guests.

My son is getting married at Plimouth Plantation which is along the ocean. They are paying  $85.00/PP that includes open bar. Food is fantastic.

I was a weding planner for years and I would recommend you could do two things.  Rent a private house, get a tent, and get a caterer.

In Truro you can get a permit to get married on the beach.  Most of the time you can get married without the permit for the beach as well.  Nobody says anything but this is going back a few years now.  Maybe check anyways

    Places to rent from:

The other place I would recommend is:

Getting married on the beach you would need a DJ with a generator.  I always used DJ MaShane http://www.djmashane.com and they were great with keeping the price down.  I think basic package is under $1000 but generator and extra setup would be more.  I used them for my wedding and Im planning my bff's wedding now and using them again.  I had a lot of clients use them.  Good way to save money for the reception venue.

    good luck!
