Hello ladies!! My FI and I actually have been engaged since September 2009 but I'm in pharmacy school so we've been putting everything off until I'm graduating. So we FINALLY set the date for June 2, 2012 :) I'm so excited. So far I have only picked out my dress and have some ideas of where we want to do our reception and ceremony. I know I still have a lot of time but with school, clinicals and working I think the earlier head start I get the better off I'll be!

    Hey ladies! I am technically in "school" as a teacher! But I just got engaged a few days ago and since it is an awkward time of the year, I am doing an 18 month engagement. Hoping to set my date for June 23rd or June 30th. I am looking forward to chatting with you ladies in my "graduating weddnig class" :)

    I have posted on my NC board but I can pose the question here as well: what are you ladies doing for colors? I am either doing a beach or garden wedding and I was thinking either dark purple or navy blue with yellow flowers. My FI likes blue with orange to represent a sunset. What do you girls think?

    I am doing Brown and Pink for the main colors, and then the boquets (And I am sure other things as well) will be orange, pink, yellow, (maybe purple) and white! We haven't done much. Just trying to enjoy the holidays and what not!

    Well today after looking at some color combos, I was thinking maybe deep purple bridesmaids dresses if we go for a garden wedding. I know that no matter what I do, I think my flowers will be orange, pink, and yellow to resemble a sunset (which was my FI's idea and when he starts getting excited about certain wedding ideas I take it and run lol). But I am still stuck as far as beach weddings are concerned. I am just like you where I haven't really planned yet, but I would like to have a rough sketch, even if it will change 20 more times Wink

    I just recently got engaged and am also having a June 2nd wedding. We are doing Yellow and Gray as our colors....grey/silver bridesmaid dresses and yellow flowers :)

    Hey girls, wanted some opinions on bridesmaid dresses...I am thinking to have short (knee length) dresses but am toying with the idea of long dresses cause I want a romantic/fairy tale feel to our wedding and think that long dresses might give that feel more so than short.  But it will be June and most likely warm so I don't want my girls being too warm.

    what are your thoughts?!?

    I don't think I've ever seen this color combo used. I can't wait to see how it comes together.

    I'm a student as well, I'm working on my bachelors degree in elementary education.

    I really want an outside ceremony (weather permitting) and the reception will be inside.   I just can't seem to find any dresses I really like and the one's I sorta like are long.

    I really want dark purple and tourqoise (more blue than green) for my colors with touches of silver.

    Personally for my own wedding, I am not a fan of terquoise but in other peoples weddings I LOVE IT!! And I think the purple and turq colors will go super well together :)

    Thanks, I hope once we start putting things together that it look like it does in my mind, haha. 

    We both really like that bright blue color which the only name I can think of is a blue turqoise.  The blue will be more of an accent with the dark purple as the main color, I do not want it to look like peacock feathers though!!  Nothing wrong with that combo but that's not the look I'm going for, so hopefully it will all come together.

    I also agree with the other girls, i've been in a June wedding, and we had long dresses, and it was fine!  I'm sure that everything that you have in mind will look fabulous!!  

    My colors are pool and purple.  I was originally going to do turquoise, but decided the pool color was a little more summer'ish.

    Welcome to the June 2012 board and congrats!!!!

    @klapham: my colors are towards the peach/pale pink colors. You could see them on my planning bio :)

    @bee&amp;bee: I've actually seen those two colors combined for a wedding. It looks really pretty. My friend used dark pruple as the main colors for the bridesmaid dresses and table linens. The turquoise was used for the flowers and favors. I was actually looking around the web for inspiration boards and came across this picture:



    I don't necessarily like all the items, but love how the colors look together :)

    @Melissa- That's the same pic i found too show my FI, haha.  Yea, I didn't care for a lot of the stuff but liked the color combo.


    @jdillon- i'll have to look into the 'pool' color, i think i know what it looks like but that sounds good too!!
