So, I got found my perfect dress a few weeks ago. It is a Maggie Sottero and I adore it! However, the other day my fiance and I were watching Say Yes to the Dress and one of the girls tried on a dress that was a bit similar to mine. My fiance made a comment that he hopes my dress doesn't have flowers around the waistband because it is ugly...My dress has flowers at the waistband and flower detail on the skirt/train...I absolutely love this dress on me! What do I do?!?!?!?!
Re: Dress Woes!!!
Then again, if you feel it is THAT big of a deal and you're not beholden to this dress in $$ ways, find a new one.
You are right...I am just nervous. I guess everyone has jitters about their dress. I know it matters how it looks on me and that is what he will be focused on...comments like that are just a tad nerve wrecking..

Maggie Sottero is so 2006.
if you love the dress and feel good in it, then why does it matter what your FI thought about some stranger on TV wearing a dress with a similar detail?
is your FI really into designers? can he pick out last season's prada pumps at 30 paces? if so you may have more to worry about than his opinion on dress trim.
[QUOTE]accessories like these will keep his eye distracted from the flowers....

I agree, Dave Grohl would be a very effective distraction from dress flowers.

So true on the "Parda" pumps. ;)
I don't think my husband could've picked my dress out of a lineup even a day after the wedding. He could tell you it was strapless, but that was about it.

yeah, i fixed it. lazy with the spellcheck today.
DK would say that his favorite feature of my dress was cleavage. he might be able to tell you it was white, and really big/long. that's about it.
I wore a Maggie in 2008. Watch yourself, conn.

I bet your FH doesn't care either.
That is how we are... I told him I do not even want to see the tux. It is just scary because it is this one day and you want it to be perfect. Thanks Bandj for responding kindly and actually giving me advice that will help ease my nerves!

Menswarehouse runs this commercial where the woman in walking down the aisle her dad with her, everyone is staring at the bride. The voiceover says when everyone is looking at her, she'll be looking at you. Now yes it's to sale a tux, but remember all he is going to see is you, not your dress, not all the jewerly you might wear, or that your hair is up or down. He's looking at you and you're looking at him.
[QUOTE]My FH made a similar comment when I was flipping through magazines. That was five months ago and the same dress he didn't like then he suddenly likes. I think it's just seeing who is in it. Sometimes I think people have a hard time imagining the same outfit on someone else. What he might not have liked was how it fit her, or how she carried herself, but he put it as it must be the dress he doesn't like. Idk, I don't have any useful advice.
