dress code--St. Patricks's

Hey knotties,
I am getting married at St. Patrick's and I know the dress code is very strict there...I got a little lace shrug to wear with my dress for the ceremony! I'm wanting to start looking for bridesmaid dresses but I was wondering if anyone has had their wedding here and could tell me specifics about what is allowed and what isn't. I went to Wedding Belles this past weekend and the girl that helped me said that the dress could be as low as the bra line and still be okay for the church! Any suggestions or advice from personal experience would be greatly appreciated!

Re: dress code--St. Patricks's

  • When I got married there Mrs. Ann was pretty straight forward that their shoulders and backs must be covered.

Pretty much anything that has an actual strap, not spaghetti straps, should be fine.  What you can do is have little removeable cap sleeves made for them that they can take off after, if you want strapless.

She even told me that if they had one shoulder, that I had to figure out a way to cover the other shoulder!
  • Based on your experience there, do you feel like if my bridesmaids had strapless dresses with a removable cap sleeve they would be okay?

  • I think that would be fine, as long as they are wide enough and the dress isn't cut too low.
