The photographer is the husband of a local knottie that I met at one of the get togethers. I said I was still looking for a photographer, and she said "my husband can do it". He does this as a hobby (for now), but has done some weddings, engagement sessions, and other things. So we decided to have him do the engagement pics, and we met at the venue where our wedding will be on 8/27/11
I had only seen the chapel and banquet facility, hadn't really toured the entire historical village. They had some great places to take pics, so I'm really anxious for the wedding day, as I'm sure (weather permitting) we'll get some great outdoor shots. We'll be hiring him, I'm sure of it.
When we were done, I laughingly told him to make sure he made "cosmetic" changes to the pictures, I wanted to look 25 again! Well, I don't look 25 any more, but I think the pics turned out great. I honestly didn't feel "weird" getting engagement pictures at our advanced age, because other than a few vacation photos, we didn't have many of us together. So, whether they are "engagement photos", or pics for our save the dates, or just "pre-wedding photographer try-out pictures", we now have a nice album of pictures of ourselves.
