Re: HELLPPP

  • Wow.
    Okay, hi!
    Welcome to the board! haha...
30 minutes of cardio and a "ton of machines" how many times a week?
Also, I would suggest moving to free weights.. it's easy to cheat when using machines. When you start getting tired it's very common, and you won't even realize.. making your workouts MUCH less effective.
Also, how much do you mix up your cardio? And how intense are you talking? Again how often?

Ultimately it's time to get your diet in check, if your gym routine is as good as you claim it is. The diet I recommend is the "eat only good-for-you foods and whole grains" :) I know.. sounds tricky.. lol ..
If you haven't started food logging, now is the time.
It will make you realize how many times you are "cheating" on your healthy eating habits and hold you more accountable to your food decisions.. plus it's something that you can keep up for life-long health and fitness, not just a crash diet to lose a few pounds that you will undoubtedly gain back.
    Difficult? Yes.
    Effective? Yes.

Get back at us with more information!

(also, cellulite is rarelysomething you can just "get rid of" Losing weight will certainl help considerably, but if it's in your genetics, you're stuck with it.. no amount of lotion will help you with that.
    Article to explain more:

  • i got to the gym 4-5 times a week, cardio every time and machines 2 times a week..i do that machines that looks like you are skiing. I get a pretty good sweat from it...

i have been eating way better also:
    oatmeal
    pears
    chibanni yougurt
wrap with lettuce, carrots and tabolue for lunch
dinner is always what my mom makes lol (i havent moved out yet haha- next year after i am married )

free weights and no more machines?
  • Unfortunately we all have trouble areas.. You know yours. The diet will be the thing that will help you the most (but that doesn't mean stop going to the gym of course :o) ) You may be eating great foods, but remember that eating too FEW calories will hurt you just like eating too many will. If you're not getting enough calories per day, your body WILL store anything it can as fat, slowing your weight loss.

Also, make sure you're mixing up your cardio. Muscle memory is an incredible thing. I do 4 different TYPES of cardio a week, each twice a week.. and just went on vacation so all I could do is run on the tred. I don't run. it kicked my BUTT and suddenly my legs were more sore than I have felt them be in a LONG time.. and in completely different places! Our muscles know patterns, so if you're doing the exact same cardio (even if each time you go, it's a different type, but you do the same sequence on it as far as time, intensity, etc goes) your muscles know, and start slacking off.
Google and read up on HIIT or Tabata intervals for some ideas to mix it up.

Machines are fine, but we get stuck in a rut with them.. We have a tendency to do the same ones every single time we go... Again, muscle memory. Free weights give more options, more levels of intensity, etc. (for example, google free weight exercises, or medicine ball exercises, or exercise ball moves, etc.. you will be shocked as to what you're forgetting to work.. Your legs are made up of so many muscles.. you may be missing a couple in your workouts. Same with your under arms.. that's all back, chest, obliques, shoulders COMBINED.)

Also, it's smart to make dinner your lightest meal. Do you ever watch how your mom cooks? Know what your putting in your body.. every tablespoon of butter, every glass of wine... It all adds up

Ultimately, it's a fine balance between cardio, lifting, and diet.

I'd recommend switching up your cardio. Do the 'skiing machines' 2-3X a week, and the others you can bike or walk on an incline or jog. Are fitness classes available to you? Those are great for cardio too. Also, there might even be some weight lifting classes that you'll use free weights in.

Ditto to start logging your food now. Try myfitnesspal.com

Also, check out muscleandstrength.com. There are literally tons of workouts and you can pick the ones that will be most suitable for you. Consider your current abaility level and fitness goals. Each workout has different excercises- Then each excercise is explained so you know what you're doing.

<div>I, too, was suckered into buying anti-cellulite lotion.  It's such a scam - lotion isn't going to help you lose cellulite.</div><div>
</div><div>What worked for me was squats.  My thighs and butt look 1000 times better.  I've been doing squats as part of my workout for about 5 months now and my cellulite is nearly gone.  I absolutely love doing squats now that I've actually seen the results.</div><div>
    </div><div>Good luck!</div>

<div>I do them along with workout DVDs.  For a while, I used the DVD by Prevention Fitness Systems called "Fight Cellulite Fast."  More recently, I've been using Insanity.  I usually work out at least 5 days a week and the DVDs I use incorporate some form of squats in every workout.  I recommend trying Fight Cellulite Fast.  I think it's only around $10 on Amazon.  </div>
