Slightly more calm... PANIC MODE

So I am 17 days until the wedding and my DJ still hasn't cashed my final check. I sent it to him three weeks ago and I was getting concerned. He finally returned my call and says he is having heart surgery on the 25th. How awful, I feel so bad for him and his family. Seriously he has a little baby, how scary. But...

Now I don't have a DJ. He is going to see if any of his buddies at JD Entertainment are available. I feel like a total witch with a capital B to be worried about my wedding when this man is having heart surgery, but the DJ was my hardest vendor to choose. I went back and forth with other dj's before I picked who IMO was the perfect one for us. I only looked at DJ's who owned their own business, so we would be sure to get the DJ we wanted. I know stuff comes up, but I have tried to reach him a few times and I feel like now I need to take who ever he sends us! I am VERY picky and I tried to pick our vendors so early so we would have the most choices, ugh.

SO... Has anyone been to a JD Entertainment wedding? I only saw 1 in the sticky that mentioned them. It was good at least...

 I will now try to calm down...

    Yikes!!!  I would be in panic mode too!!  And it is perfectly okay to feel compassion for him but also be thinking of your wedding and making it perfect.

    I have not heard anything about JD but I can tell you that I have had absolutely wonderful service from Mike Staff and they have like 25 DJ's.  Even last minute they may be able to help you.  Ask for TIm, he does the customer service stuff.  Good luck!!!

    Wow, I"m so sorry to hear that. Real life does intrude, even for vendors!

    Good luck. I'd recommend mine, but he is a single employee of his own, and if nothing else comes up for you, you could look into him.

    I've not used them, but Paul Taylor from Sunshine Entertainment is an amazing DJ.  Try giving him a call at 313-522-6768.

    Ok, calm has set in!! Thanks girls. You have validated my crazy and made me feel better too. My photographer has worked with them before and reassured me they are very good! Amanda Williams is the most awesome ever, fyi.

    John from JD was our DJ. He is the owner. He called me the day before the wedding to check in and was one of the easiest vendors to work with. The office manager is great too.  I have heard great things about the other DJs from the company too.

    Thanks msteaches, that makes me feel so much better! Our DJ e-mailed me this morning that Scott from JD is available and will be contacting us. Whew! Amanda is our photog, and is the awsomeness! She calmed me right down when I was in full crazy. Even checked back in to make sure I was ok. Aloisk57 we are very lucky girls!

    Natalie at Night and Day is the owner and they have an entire list of DJ's, great reviews, and my DJ, Ron Johnson even found a DJ to cover our ceremony the day before bc we weren't going to use one until we determined that would be a disaster and people danced the entire night....
