Sheryl Kelm

I know she comes highly talked about on this board.  I have an appt with her next month.  I am just trying to get an idea of what she charges.  If anyone wants to share what they had done and how much she charged that would be great.  I am trying to compare with others.  Save any amount of money I can :)

It really depends on what it is you will need done as to how much she will charge.

She is making my bridesmaid and flowergirl dresses. Bridesmaids she is charging 155. Flowergirl i believe its 114.

For my gown she is taking in the sides and bust. In order to take in the bust she has to remove the pleat that is at the top take it in and then reattach the pleat. She is also going to be adding boning into the sides. She is also adding the traditional bussel which has 7 pull ups. She is charging me $120.

She has my wedding gown now for alterations. She's hemming it (including the ruffle that comes almost up to my hip) and doing a French bustle. I think the cost is about $175.  My bridesmaid is also having her alterations done on her dress (taking in the halter at the neck, taking in along the sides and moving the boning, taking in at the hip on the skirt, hemming), and if I remember correctly, it was under $100.

She really does like to see the dress and how complicated it will be before she gives numbers. She is super nice though, I'm glad I went with her. And I get to pick up my dress in a few short weeks (EEK!).

Edited to say that she is also pressing my dress.

She took in the bust of my dress, which involved removing and then putting back on some of the lace applique.  Plus, she did a French bustle.  I paid $125 and that included having it steamed/pressed/ready to go!  She's so sweet!

I met with her today and she is an absolute doll. She was very honest (it seems) and rather than hemming she will be moving my pick-ups to save money/time. She was a sweetheart and welcomed my friends into her him studio.

I'm confident I'll love the work! I was quoted 90$ for french bustle, halter repair, lifting dress (instead of hem), putting dart on one side in bust area and sewing in cups.

She really is a total doll!
