Strangers In The Night - First Dance?

My FI and I love Frank Sinatra and I've always thought that a good first dance would be "Strangers in the Night".  My FI and I, sort of met in the similar matter as how the song describes.  But some time ago (before the big engagement) I read an article that this song was actually a horrible first dance song and the meaning behind the song was actually super sad.  Has anyone heard that before?  Is it a horrible song for a first dance??

    The rhythm at times changes and makes it difficult to dance to. Try it, though, and see how it feels. The lyrics are sweet. The only controversy I know about the song us that Sinatra hated the song lol.

    This is my and Fi's first dance song.  I don't really know what's sad about it.  Frankly, many of my firends have thought its an odd choice, but it is special to FI and I - so there is no other choice.  If you feel attached to it as well, you should use it.
