Honeymoon in/near Seattle Suggestions?

Hi Seattle Brides,

My fiance and I are looking into visiting Washington for our honeymoon in August, but we have no idea where to go? We'll be flying into Seattle, but are open to taking the train anywhere in the state. Any ideas on a romantic B&B or Inn? Or just a general area that's really beautiful and romantic? Possibly somewhere that has some beautiful nature?

Thanks so much for any suggestions you can provide!

  • I'm from the Seattle area, and I would suggest if you have never been to Washington,  Ocean shores, and or Lake Chelan. I don't know if this will help but there is a website www.vrbo.com. You can look and see rental homes and condos that are available by date and the area you are looking at staying in, and they should also have pictures, and reviews from past guests as to what things they did in that area. Hope that helps! -Not affiliated with the website listed above

  • I second Lake Chelan. The whole Cascade loop is great. Your could spend some time in Chelan and also check out Winthrop. If you want the water look into the San Juan islands. We have heard great things about Willows Inn it is on our list of places to visit.

The Olympic Peninsula is awesome - lots of beaches and rainforests. You can also visit some of the islands. Beautiful scenery and quaint bed and breakfasts. You can take a day trip to Victoria B.C. which is a lot of fun.

If you like hiking and such, there is Mt. Rainer and Mt. St. Helens...You can go out to Woodinville (about 30 minutes from Seattle) and visit wineries. There is a world class restaurant out there called The Herbfarm. There is also a nice hotel named Willows Lodge.

If you want to drive a bit (about 4 hours), Cannon Beach in Oregon is awesome coastline and a cute little town.

I haven't been here, but I've heard great things and want to go http://www.alderbrookresort.com/

  • You can take the train into Leavenworth which is awesome.

Whidbey Island is close enough to drive and they have some nice hotels in Langley, Coupeville.

  • Orcas Island is another amazing place!  It is a little bit of a drive from Seattle and then a ferry ride but well well worth the time.  Beach Haven on Orcas is my favorite place to stay, no TV, no cell service just spedinging time together on the ocean. You can Kayak, paddleboard and they even have a jaccuzi in the Honeymoon cabin.  You can get cell service in town and there are restaurants and cute little shops.  Also lots of hiking and running and biking if you are into that stuff.  Honestly you can't really go wrong with any of these Knotties suggestions
