Punt.a Cana Honeymoon help

I would love to go to a certain hotel in Punt.a Cana for our honeymoon, but I don't know if I should use a travel agent or book from expedia, etc.  If I should, can anyone recommend someone who specializes in that area?  I am from a smaller town in Oklahoma and the travel agent fees around here are insane!  My dad said when they take their scuba trips they use agents in Florida usually.  Any thoughts?

    I always like to recommend an agent, although I think you should find one where there is not fee. There are several agencies where there aren't fees like AAA, Liberty Travel, etc. I'm not sure if AAA is the same but with liberty you can book things over the phone or via email, you don't have to show up in person if you don't want to or are unable to. As far as payment and documents, you can mail in a check and they will mail you your documents. (You technically don't even need the documents LOL)

    I would at the very least research the property very well and find someone who has been there or at least in the area to get advice from. Punt.a Cana is not for everyone. Good luck!

    We went on vacation a couple years back through Apple Vacations and stayed at the Riu resort. You can get some really good deals and most places are all-inclusive! Very nice place- the resorts in Punt.a Cana are huge.
