Setting RSVP Deadlines

Hey Ladies,

My wedding is June 25th and half of my guests are from OOT. I'm trying to decide when to mail the invitations and when to set the RSVP date. I sent STD's in January with a link to our wedding website where the hotel information is. And we don't have to have a final count to the caterer until 3 days before the wedding, but the deadline for booking the hotel at the discounted rate is May 23rd.

So........should we mail the invitations in two sets? First mail at the beginning of May to out of town guests with the RSVP date the same as the hotel booking deadline (May 23rd) and then the last batch mail in mid-May to all the local guests with an RSVP date in June?

What do you think? Any suggestions?

I am mailing my invites out the 2nd week in May and asking for them to be back by 6/22 so that I know 1 month in advance how many people are coming. I don't want to have to deal with last minute anything you know. My wedding is in July.

I'd send them all out together at the same time.

I would also send them all at the same time.  About 95% of our guests are OOT, so we sent our invitations last week.  We gave them a March 1st RSVP date.  A couple of people I still need to get addresses from, but the majority of our guests got the invite already.  We wanted to have all the RSVP stuff wrapped up by April at the latest so we can do the seating chart, etc. and not worry about last minute changes.

It's going well, so far we have about 50 RSVPs and we are inviting about 150 people.

You should mail them out in April.

Are you including accomodations cards? If so, include the hotel discount deadline of May 23rd nice and big and clear on it.

Then I would mail them ALL out on May 1st and have an RSVP date of June 1st.

No, I'm not including accomodation cards. The hotel information is on the website for everyone to review.

since 100% of our guest are OOT including us...right now STDs or being sent out until the end of March... the first week of May I want to send out all my Invitations and I am giving a month to RSVP so up until memorial day...and then that first week of June, they get me calling if I have no answer and I will call like a bill collector, which won't be pretty...lol...

since our room blocks at both hotels ends a month before the wedding I kind of want things wrapped up by then as far as guest count goes.  I am happy that some of my guest are already proactive in booking their flights.
