Needing some advice (beach wedding)

We are planning on a beach wedding in Wrightsville beach and were told we can find our own company to provide chairs, but the company they typically use is $4.50 a chair (yikes!). We were thinking about having chairs for the parents/grandparents, and then chairs around the outside for people who need them? Does that sound tacky? We were thinking about renting 30 chairs total and will probably have 100 in attendence.

Second question, does anyone know of any companies in the Wilmington area to rent chairs, arbors, etc?

Thanks in advance! :-)

Please, please, please get chairs for all your guests. I just had my wedding in May in Surf City which is about 30 min from Wilmington. I used Shoreline Party Rentals and they charged me $1.50 per chair plus $50 delivery fee. They were the white samsonite chairs which looked really nice but they aren't the traditional wooden ones. No one will really notice what your chairs look like but they will remember not having one!

Each guest needs a chair for the ceremony.

Each guest needs a chair for the reception.  It's nice to have more chairs than guests if you're not assigning seats at the reception.  It's nice to have more chairs than guests if you are assigning seats at the reception if there's going to be lots of time for mingling.

I used Party Suppliers (they are on Oleander across the street from Flaming Amy's). The chairs were $2.50 each with a small set up fee if you want the rental people to set up the chairs instead of setting them up yourself.

They were very easy to work with, arrive on time & got everything set up and ready to go before the caterer, etc. arrived. I definitely recommend them.

Another supply company L&L Rentals never got back to me when I asked them for a revision of my quote, which frustrated me.

I am using L and L rentals.  I think the quoted 75 cents per chair for basic metal folding chairs.  We decided to go with benches though.  I am not having seating for everyone. Orginally, we were only going to have a few benchs for just grandparents, but changed that after talking to my officiant.  He recommended having seating for half of the people in the group.  He says normally for beach weddings, half the people don't sit anyway.  And then photos look empty.  I was just at a wedding last week on a roof top terrace, and they didn't have any seating for their 10 minute ceremony, and it was perfectly fine.

So really, it comes down to what you want and what you can afford. I couldn't justify spending all the extra money for a 10 minute ceremony.  If our ceremony was longer, then I might consider it.

We are using L&L, but using the benches. I am planning on having seating for everyone but our guest list is also alot smaller than yours.

Thanks everyone! I have e-mailed a few of the places you suggested, and I will def. have chairs or benches for everyone.
