Mother Son Song

This is one of the few details we still haven't made a decision on. I asked FMIL what she'd like, but there isn't a song she feels strongly about. FI isn't sure either. What song are you ladies having for this dance?

I'm thinking about combining the mother/son dance with the father/daughter dance so no one feels weird about it (FI hates to dance). The song I was thinking about is "Here Comes The Sun" by The Beatles.

My dad is supposed to be choosing our song for us to dance to... FMIL says she doesn't want a heartfelt song because "she will cry" but as FI put it, she will already have cried at some point before that so what's a few more tears? He likes "Perfect Fan" by the Backstreet Boys. It is actually really fitting because his mom has been to all of his sporting events growing up and is really the perfect fan

There is nothing wrong with having the dances occur at the same time, or just having the music play for 30 seconds.

FI's mom is pretty non-sentimental and FI HATES to dance (he's never danced with his mom before.ever), so they didn't want a sappy loveydovey song. He chose "In the Morning" by Nina Simone, which seemed like a great choice!

(Close seconds were "In My Life" by the beatles and "have i told you lately" by van morrison)

I think we are also going to combine the dances because my FI also feels awkward dancing. Probably some sappy country song, we haven't really tried to pick that one yet.

FI choose a song that we originally offered for FBIL's wedding but FBIL said it wasn't appropriate for the guests they were having. We LOVED the song and FMIL had an instant reaction. We knew right away what we wanted. It's "Mama" by Boyz 2 Men.

I chose one for my FMIL and FI to dance to, as he wasn't sure what he wanted. "owe it all to you" by DJ Keo is a good song. It isn't sappy but it still a really cute song

My son is giving me away. So, I wanted something special. When I was pregnant with him, I used to sing "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, so that's going to be our dance together. Good thing I'm going to be carrying a handkerchief!
